I am so happy that I decided to go there. There was two ladies that helped me and made it well worth it. I have been wearing my grandfather’s World War II dog tags for almost 30 years. As you can see, I have fixed it before but was not able to this time. When I went in there was a lady that told me they were four weeks out because they were short on staff. I said oh OK bummed out and asked if she could recommend me someplace else. Lady number one asked me if she could see it. After she looked at it for a minute, she asked me if I would be able to go do something and come back in a half an hour. I said yes that’s possible why. She said that she would just cut one of the links hook the other one to it and then solder it closed. I was excited and said yes thank you very much ma’am how much do I owe you. She told me nothing. When I got back she said oh we’ve been waiting for you because there was a change in plans, but didn’t want to do it without asking you. When she told me what she was doing, I figured there would be a cost. Once again, she said no. Lady number two is the kind lady who did the repair itself. To end the story, their kindness and heart they put into their goal is beyond this world. Thank you once again if...
Read moreThe woman who waited on me ( most likely the same individual that waited on the reviewer that had brought in a 14k gold opal ring for appraisal) treated me with complete disrespect. She also threw all the items I brought in all over the counter, weighed some and others tossed down in front of me. She missed several 14k gold pieces that were hallmarked and insisted they weren't. Upon her second scrutiny she put them on the scale. She told me her reasoning on refusing one piece, "...oh, these are a dime a dozen." What a wonderful metaphor to use for good customer service. I felt like a person hawking jewelry at a pawnshop in a bad neighborhood. They may have been nicer there actually. Needless to say, she really made the experience horrendous. The only time she was half way civil was as I was finishing the transaction. This store has competition now, so my advise is to go elsewhere. It couldn't get any worse than my experience. Sometimes businesses need to clean house...this one...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO MAINE GOLD AND SILVER if you are trying to sell anything I tried selling them mu solid 14k gold chain and they gave me a disgusting low offer. I know what my piece is worth in just scrap price and their price was significantly lower than that. What really disturbs me about these heartless scammers is that I once tried purchasing another solid 14k gold chain from them extremely similar to mine, in fact the mine being slightly heavier, and they wanted over double what I was offered for my chain. Granted I am only a 19 year old i believe they were hoping I don’t know any better and damn well knew that they were going to sell my chain for over double what they offered me knowing what they wanted for their chain I tried purchasing. This place just wants to make as much money as possible even if they have to scam unknowing looking individuals. I highly do not recommend coming here the staff also is always very unpleasant. Maine gold and silver you guys are an...
