It was such a pleasure to visit The Mattress Company at Gateway!

Buying a new mattress is one of those things that we have to do but I don't think anyone actually enjoys doing. In this case, Brendan made our experience painless, productive and rewarding.

My partner and I have differing sleep styles, necessitating a compromise on mattress firmness and features. Brendan was patient, intuitive and most of all, he took into consideration all of the points we had concerns over and made appropriate suggestions. His cordial, no-pressure approach paired with knowledge of his product ensured that we trusted his input and advice. I never felt the slightest hint of pressure or frustration when we circled back to items we had previously viewed.

I had walked into The Mattress Company anticipating that this would be the first stop of many in the search for a quality, affordable mattress. Having done much of my initial research online but preferring to purchase from a locally owned business rather than a nationwide, megalithic chain, I was pleased to find exactly what we were looking for on our first visit.

After settling on the mattress we liked, Brendan provided a quote and the total was so unexpectedly reasonable I could not find any reason not to strike the deal then and there.

Delivery was well within the projected time frame and the folks at The Mattress Company worked to schedule that at the most convenient time for us. What a pleasure!

Unfortunately, our mattress was delivered without the mattress cover we had ordered. A quick phone call to Brendan and within the hour one of the managers (I wish I could remember his name to give him credit, too) personally delivered the cover to us and was entirely gracious about accommodating us despite having to go out of his way to do so.

When undertaking the onerous task of spending a significant amount of money on a product that will be an important part of your life for perhaps the next ten years, it is nice to deal with respectful, professional, and honest folks. Even better if they are a local business.

I purchased a standard tempurpedic mattress four years ago. Since then, I have not had a normal or relaxing full night's sleep--I constantly toss, turn, get up in the middle of the night, etc. I came to the realization that perhaps I did not choose the right mattress, so I visited The Mattress Co. Matt (manager) asked a few questions about my sleeping habits and how I sleep (side, back stomach) and then had me try out the Sealy Hybrid Silver Plush. The moment I laid down on this mattress it I knew this was the one for me. I purchased it, it was quickly delivered and setup for me and I can honestly say the past week of sleep has been the best sleep I've had in four years! The moment I get into my side-sleeping position I fall asleep and I wake up in the morning in the same position having total uninterrupted, amazing, refreshing sleep. Finally! This mattress is a game-changer. I feel like I have my energy back and instead of dreading going to bed, I look forward to it. Special thanks to the Mattress Co. for taking the time to figure out the best mattress for me, and for a very professional and seamless purchase, delivery, and setup process. Five stars for the Mattress Co.! And five stars for the Sealy Hybrid...

I had the worst experience ever at the mattress company. Kara screwed up our entire order by overcharging us and making guarantees she couldn't keep. We ended up canceling our order and receiving a refund. However, they did not cancel the Synchrony account we set up through them, and therefore negatively affected our ability to build credit (the entire reason we went in the first place)! The Mattress Company falsely advertises deals they can't give on their website. To top it all off, Kara called my husband's cell phone from her private cell phone number and left him a voicemail asking for him to call her and explain why he canceled our order (something he had already done when speaking to the manager who was very helpful). We feel like our privacy has been totally violated because now his cell phone number is in her private cell phone for personal use. Overall, this experience made me never want to go mattress shopping again. Luckily, the kind staff at American Mattress across the parking lot helped us buy local and gave us a better deal with professional service and full transparency.
