This place was recommended by a friend who only used their services once. I was very excited to rent an RV and selected a coach size. I paid for the RV way in advance and everytime I would call with a question, I was told about a new fee.
I wasn't happy about it but I went along. I paid everything in full and at time of pick up, I was yet told about a $2500 deposit. That was never mentioned to me, nor was it in my contract. One new thing after another. Very annoying.
Fine, I gave them a copy of my credit card to have on file. In addition, I chose to purchase the insurance for the RV through them, which was $210 for 6 days.
At time of pick up, a guy quickly reviewed the RV with us and tested the water and generator for no more then 10 seconds. Well, of course it worked. I specifically asked the guy, 5 TIMES, if the water tank is full as I didn't want to have any issues with brushing my teeth or take a shower. He assured me that they did.
Once we left the parking lot and arrived our destination, we had nothing but problems with the RV.
I wanted to take a shower and the tank was empty. I turned on the generator to make coffee and the alarm inside the RV kept going off. Something about fumes inside the RV. Generator worked on and off. Didn't always work. When the generator worked, the inside of the RV smelled like propane. And yes, the windows were closed. I filled the water tank twice in the 3 days that I camped. I didn't even wash the dishes inside. Just took shower, to only discover that the water tank was leaking.
I finally just had enough of the RV and cut my vacation short so I returned the RV one day early. I requested the one day refund and yet, 7 days later I have not heard from the owner of Share My Coach.
Furthermore, when we drove to the mountain, the tree branches touched the RV so some marks were left on the RV, which came off when we wiped it.
After 6 calls, I finally spoke with the owner who told me that they want to investigate if the marks were there already there and then he will refund me the one day early return. I told him I already purchased insurance through them. However, his response was that there is a $2500 deductible to the insurance.
WHAT?!?!?!? No one told me that when I paid for the insurance, nor again, did receive any papers on my contract stating that.
I can go on and on about the service I received with them. VERY POOR AND THEY TALK TOO MUCH ABOUT WHAT CAN GO WRONG WITH THE RV INSTEAD OF ADMITTING THAT THE RV WE GOT WAS NOT THOROUGHLY INSPECTED, NOR CLEAN.
Did I mention they charged me $75 for cleaning!!! When I picked up the RV, the guy stated that they didn't have enough time to clean the RV well because someone else had it before us.
I should have gone to El Monte RV rental. I will NEVER use ShareMyCoach. Don't be fooled by their friendly personality. They are FULL OF IT!!!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY THERE.
This is just a little piece of my issues with them.
My children hated the experience we had...
Read more2 families, 4 adults, three kids, 7, 7, and 9 years old, only one of the adults with any camping experience, no one with any RV experience, that is how we started. I found this company on a Google search and after a reasonable amount of search and deliberation, I called them just to get more info. They were very nice and informative and accommodating on the phone. I made an appointment to visit and check out the RV to choose between my two choices. They were very helpful and patient as I toured both RVs and gave me all the info I needed to make up my mind. RV is a hotel on wheels in my opinion so one must understand that it will be priced as such of course much cheaper than an actual hotel room. (Just for those who are used to tent camping on the side of the road!) I reserved three months in advance and had no issues with availability. Showed up on the day, got a thourouh tour and informational education about how to set up the hook ups. Staff was very patient and explained everything and answered all of our questions. We were able to park our cars on the lot which was tremendously helpful! They said the orientation would take about an hour and they were right on the target. We drove without any problems to Lake Jennings a spot with full hook ups. It took less than 10 minutes to get hooked up to city water, electricity and sewer! The RV was clean and stocked with cookware and small appliances and all was as explained and expected. All the newbies to camping had an amazing time exploring in the wilderness by day and sleeping in a comfortable hotel on wheels by night! I pitched a tent for a more authentic camping on the side and the kids loved it. We used everything in the RV, beds, bathroom, shower, TV, DVD player, toaster, microwave, fridge, oven, stovetop, and coffeemaker. All worked well without any issues. We of course had a fire pit and other campsite cooking tools so we mixed it all up for some amazing dining experiences: pancakes, eggs, chorizo, sausages, bagels, muffins, steak, pilaf rice, and fire roasted veggies including cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms, ..., burgers with brioche buns, hot dogs, chili, tacos, ... Wine, beer, Moscow mules, cowboy coffee/tea (yes we didn't use the coffeemaker every day) added to the fantastic experience. It took another 10 min to unhook and leave with great memories made and amazing stories to tell. The check out was a breeze and the staff made the whole experince a very painless endeavor which is way more than I can say these days when doing anything even the ordinary deeds sometimes can feel like pulling teeth! We had a great experience because we planned ahead, were well prepared, but also picked a great company to rent our first RV! On the way back all 7 people in the RV were talking about and planning their next RV trip! Thank you...
Read moreI have rented twice from this "establishment" in Stanton. The first Class A rig I rented came with a host of problems. When we arrived at our destination, on our family vacation, the slides would not go out and the jacks would not go down. We spent our first night sleeping in a coach, uncomfortably. The next day, fortunately, we had someone on our trip who was able to diagnose the problem and re-attach a single wire that had come lose. Next, we paid for the unit with the DirecTV feature. It did not work. But the worse part was the evenings where we camped were in the 30's. The heater did not work for the front of the motorhome. We had heat in the bedroom, but the kids froze. When I returned the rig, and told them of the issues, they really didn't seem to care. I can't even remember if I got a "sorry" from them. I asked them to have the manager/owner call me so I could discuss my unhappiness with the rental. No one ever called. A month later, I called and finally spoke with the owner/manager. He was kind enough to offer a $100.00 discount on a future rental. I should have simply taken the $100.00 cash. So, we rented again. Another Class A that they chose for us, without us seeing. After we picked up the rig, we drove it home, to a location here in Orange County. The rig was parked out in front of our house for about 4 hours while we loaded. When I went to start the rig, it barely had enough battery power to turn over. I called "Share my junk" to express my concerns with the rig and the battery. They told me, "don't worry, when you drive it, the battery will charge." Okay I said and off on our family vacation we went. Sure enough, we parked that evening, shut everything off and went to bed. I was the first one up in the morning and decided to go outside. I opened the door, stepped out and took a fall as I soon realized that the electronic step didn't come out because the battery system to the rig was out. We had to jump the generator to get it to start. I called again. This time all I got was, "let the generator run the entire trip." Just great. We all had to listen to a generator that ran all night long because this place pushes out junk.
I cannot and will not recommend this place to anyone. They are more concerned about "volume" and less concerned with any positive customer service experience. They'll always default to their contract that says they can't promise you a good time, these things (RV's) are prone to break down.
There are other places in OC and locally to rent from. We'll be going there for all our...
