My fiancé and I had been in search of "THE Ring." We had looked at several and had been to multiple jewelers without success. The rings we looked at were either out of our price range, didn't' offer financing, or wasn't quite the style I had in mind. I'm also very picky and have a tiny finger size. Out of frustration, I was pretty close to giving up on an engagement ring altogether and settle for picking out a nice wedding band. I told my fiancé this, but he begged me to try one more store. We happened to be in Stowe and thats when we walked into Ferro Jewelers...
Rhonda assisted us in our search and was absolutely wonderful. She was very friendly, patient with us, and had great suggestions. Then I saw a gorgeous, oval-shaped diamond ring in one of the many impressive display cases of estate jewelry. I loved the style and how delicate it was on my (3.5 size) ring finger.
When Rhonda told me that the price of this ring was out of our budget, I was very disheartened. However, she told me not to worry and speak to Bryan the owner at the back desk.
Bryan asked us about our budget and what I liked/ didn't like about the ring. He informed us that while he couldn't lower the price, he could either replicate the exact ring or we could design our own within our budget. Bryan also notified us that his store offered a lay away option (which my fiancé preferred over financing/lump sums) No one had offered us options before, let alone MANY options!
Bryan told us about different diamond possibilities and brought a great selection to our next meeting. He really wanted us to understand what we were buying, how each differed, and was happy to show us through a magnifier. Through the extensive research I had done on my own and many unsuccessful trips to other jewelers, I knew he was being honest me. We ended up making a deposit on the diamond Bryan originally recommended for us (which was the best out of the entire selection).
Our experience with Bryan has been nothing short of incredible. He really wants THE best for the customer and will work hard to get EXACTLY what you want. As promised, he has kept us in the loop every step of the way. Bryan is prompt in responding (from experience almost always less than 30min via email) This includes sending us 2 graphic designs of the ring and finally the seeing the wax model with our diamond in it.
Matthew, the designer, was able to perfectly replicate a Tiffany Legacy Ring but with an oval diamond. He was able to take my vision and make my dreams come true. I was so impressed with the workmanship and quality, we bought our weddings bands there too!
I would highly recommend Ferro Jewelers to anyone and can't say enough nice things about the staff or...
Read moreBeing local to Stowe we wanted to support a Vermont business. My first experience was a a wedding ring repair and rhodium dip. The service was flawless and it was done very quick.
When I picked up my wedding ring I asked about resetting a ring. Bryan quoted me a price and he agreed it would look beautiful. I asked about building up the metal so the different sized stones would be in a row like an anniversary ban. He explained this was bezel set and would be $100 more. He was eager to do the ring and said I’d I left he wouldn’t be able to honor the price quoted. He gave me a discount due to the slow time of year. Feeling the pressure and the reasonable price I agreed to move forward. He then said he would send a photo before the rings was set.
Two weeks later he called and told me there would be a delay as there was a snow storm. Loved the communication. Was promised a photo that Monday. Two and a half weeks went by and I tried to call. No voicemail message and mailbox was full. I tried twice. I emailed them and Bryan got right back to me and said they were on vacation and they would send a photo Monday. That photo never came and I didn’t realize I was being unreasonable asking for something that was offered to me. I was in town that Thursday and emailed to check in. Asking for a photo this time was offensive to Bryan (even though he was the one to offer). The phone call started off very brash. Bryan has a very strong personality, it is clear he is not familiar with a women standing up for herself. He said in 18 years he has never had an interaction like this. (Read the reviews….he has.)
I found it appalling he said to me twice that my item was not expensive enough and he does custom pieces worth 50k that are worth more of his time time. This item has sentimental value and we aren’t asking for a handout. We are lucky to have the means. However many Vermonters are not as lucky and it’s condescending to our community. Word of mouth is everything and locals are so important to Vermont businesses. Bryan did send an apology email but the damage was done.
My receipt says my original ring had 9 accent diamonds. (Bryan said he would throw one accent diamond to make it an even 10). We received the ring w 8 accent diamonds and the center diamonds set in prongs. Very disappointed and will never go back.
ETA: We expected this response from Bryan. We are in contact with a jeweler to redo the ring. My husband didn’t say anything and to be fair your wife didn’t either. It’s not worth it. But trust me I am not hiding behind my review. I have been very vocal about our horrific experience.
ETA: We got the ring redone it’s amazing and the jeweler didn't...
Read moreWe’ve just come home from Ferro jewelers with an absolute treasure and we’re so grateful to Brian for his knowledge, expertise and excellent eye. When we retired 4 years ago, we bought a much smaller house and downsized a lot, but still ended up renting a storage unit. Boxes upon boxes of heirlooms from my husband’s family were stowed away til we could figure out what to do with everything. The July 2023 flood figured it out for us. Among the sodden ruins, though, we found treasure! My husband’s grandmother’s jewelry, long since relegated to old tattered boxes inside boxes inside more boxes “floated to the top,” so to speak. Once unpacked and laid out on towels to dry, we found some lovely pieces of no remarkable value, but pretty cool just the same. A ring turned up… the band had been cut in half and bent open. And of course it was filthy. I was sure the three stones were fake and I just left it sitting among the jumble of costume and 10k gold bits and pieces for a few weeks. Anytime it caught my eye, though, it made me wonder. One day, we decided to pop in to Ferro just to have Brian confirm the ring was costume and of no value. I was laughing as I pulled it out of my purse, half-embarrassed to be inquiring about junk jewelry. Brian knew what he was looking at right away… and he wasn’t laughing! But he was smiling as he studied it! It turned out to be an Edwardian era ring with three old European cut diamonds. It was a treasure of antique craftsmanship begging to be rescued and Brian advised us on the best way to do it. And that’s what we picked up today… an absolutely gorgeous piece, restored perfectly to its original intricate design and made to last for many more generations. As if that weren’t more than enough, Brian’s genuine enthusiasm and admiration for this ring made it all the more special! Someone as knowledgeable and experienced as he is loved this ring! As do we now! His price for resetting the ring was more than fair and we’re so grateful! Thank you so...
