We wanted a unique place to stay that had a lodge or inn like feel and not a big chain hotel. This fit the bill. The location is ideal. It is a short 1/4 mile walk to the Main Street down a sidewalk and across a covered pedestrian bridge. There are restaurants directly across the street from the inn or on Main Street. There are others nearby if you have a vehicle. There are beautiful views of the mountains no matter where you are in town. Ski, snowboard and other outdoor rentals are also close. There is a wonderful 5 mile path that you can access across the street from the inn and it meanders through the town. There are hiking trails on the mountain directly behind the inn too. There are many hiking trails and waterfalls all over the Stowe area. ||There is plenty of parking in front of the inn and on the backside of the inn. All of the parking is very close to an entrance. The backside of the inn has chairs for sitting outside and a fire pit that is often burning. Unfortunately it rained a lot while we were there so we didn’t get to use it as much. There is also a large covered side deck that has corn hole and plenty of tables for sitting, eating or playing other games. ||The lobby, bar and eating area on the first floor are hip, trendy, calming, decorated with an outdoor, natural vibe and includes some fun snow skiing items too. There are plenty of places for reading, eating, playing one of the many board games, etc. A light breakfast is provided each morning. It usually consisted of a bread/pastry, fresh fruit (pineapple, pomegranates, blueberries, cantaloupe, etc), an egg item (hard boiled, mini quiche, etc), and a cereal item (yogurt with toppings, overnight oatmeal, etc). There is also coffee available. In the evenings, there is hot water for tea or hot cocoa, hot apple cider (although it was a bit watered down for our preference), and cold coffee that can be reheated in the adjacent microwave. Half and half is provided for the coffee. There is also a shuffleboard table in the lobby too. There are fireplaces but they weren’t being used yet. I assume they are used in colder weather. Be aware that there is no elevator and the inn has 3 floors. It wasn’t an issue for us, but if you plan to bring a lot of luggage or don’t do well with stairs, you should take that under consideration. It’s not any different than many European hotels and inns from that aspect. ||Our room was on the third floor and was a corner room with a king bed. The decor was lovely, clean, with an uncluttered vibe. Delicious chocolate chip cookies and two bottles of water were provided along with a cork screw and bottle opener if you had any wine bottles to open. Two small glasses were provided as well as a square mini fridge and two bathrobes. There are no hangers and very little places to hang any clothing. There is also no place to store clothing in a dresser or closet. There is a luggage stand that you can lay a suitcase on. There are 4 hooks in the bathroom but those were needed for towels. Consider bringing your own hangers and keep the limited space in mind especially if you are there in the winter with coats and ski gear. For the two of us, we made it work. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. There is a large flat screen TV but we never used it. There are two small sconces on either side of the bed which were helpful, but they tend to get very hot if left on for a while. Windows had curtains and blackout shades. The windows open too which was helpful because the room got hot when we took showers. There is some sort of an AC unit in the room and it was set on 64 degrees. Not sure if it wasn’t working or doesn’t function like a typical AC because the room never got that cold. ||The bathroom had a square stand alone shower (no tub)with a nice rainfall shower head. Keep in mind that there isn’t much room in the shower. I’m 5’3 and 130 lbs and could barely shave my legs without water washing off the shaving cream. It was tight trying to take a shower without getting my hair wet. It was fine but if you are a taller and larger size, it might be cramped for you. The towels were plentiful and nice and thick. Two small glass cups were provided in the bathroom too which was a nice touch. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash are included in the shower. Soap and lotion are located by the sink. A hair dryer is also provided. The lighting isn’t super bright and no magnified mirror so bring your own if those are something you need. ||Housekeeping is provided daily if you choose to have it. No additional cost. The first day they replaced our towels but didn’t make the bed or vacuum the floor. The second day they did all three. I’m sure you can request whatever you need. There is also a QR code if you choose to leave a tip for housekeeping. The doors have physical keys, kind of a nice retro feel. The doors have the basic lock, a deadbolt and a chain lock. We felt extremely safe at the hotel and in Stowe so security wasn’t an issue for us. ||The staff is very friendly and eager to help with anything you need. They were very accommodating when our travel plans had to be adjusted for flight delays. They provided us a way to get in when we arrived after the front desk was no longer manned for the evening. ||We enjoyed our stay at the Inn and in Stowe. Wonderful place to get away whether you venture out or...

Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for a week in September 2022. The location is great and the decor is stylish. Some of the staff were nice. That’s where the positives end. Things that went wrong during our stay:
-When we arrived, there was trash in the bathroom sink
-The room floor and bathroom floor did not seem clean - both were slightly sticky.
-We paid extra for a suite with a little living room and a gas fireplace (the ones with the FP were more). Our fireplace didn’t work. When I complained about it, they grumbled and made a big deal about the manager coming in on the weekend to fix it… it still took 2 or 3 days to fix it, with the manager in our room while we wanted to relax in private.
-One day at breakfast they were serving cute little yogurt parfaits in mason jars. I was excited until I opened mine with blueberries and saw that it had MOLD on it - very visible mold. The staff member snatched it out of my hand before I could ask my husband for his phone to take a picture.
-You have to make a reservation for the hot tub and you only get 15 mins. We showed up at our time and the couple in the tub didn’t get out. We had to ask them to get out, they played dumb, then asked us to turn around while they got out because the woman was wearing a bra and panties instead of a suit (???)
-When we got in the hot tub it was incredibly, incredibly hot almost unbearable and there was a weird foam. We had to get out after a few mins because it was stinging. I told the staff member about it and he RAN out to the supplies… I said “is it supposed to do that?” And he said “No!” With a really panicked look on his face.
-They include as one of their amenities a clock/white noise machine. Mine didn’t work. They gave me another one, that one didn’t work either.
-There is no ice machine. No one told us this at check in and we were looking for it only to find out that they put bags of ice in a small fridge by a door that required us walking up and down 3 floors to get it (no elevator) even though our room was at ground level with the back, where we had parked.
-Breakfast was made to look boutiquey but in reality it was 1-2 choices and the food always looked like it had been sitting out.
-The wine glasses that were in our room for our use were so dirty and definitely had not been actually washed (maybe just rinsed out) They were covered with greasy finger prints and chapstick prints.
-When this place was remodeled they left the small old stand up shower that had no light in it and a cheap...
