Masjid Istiqlal Houston — Attraction in Sugar Land

We moved to Texas in November 2023 and have been looking for a masjid to go for Ramadan. I am not only touched by the warmth and welcoming atmosphere of Masjid Istiqlal but I am overwhelmed with emotion of how much I feel at home. Being on Cambodian and Cham descent, it’s not easy to find a community you feel at ease with.

Our kids love the playground and I myself played basketball there. The family room for taraweeh is so spacious and I feel less guilty too.

The FOOD for iftar was so delightful and they are so organized and just overall so hospitable.

I can’t wait for the upgrades to the masjid as it continues to grow.

The only thing I had trouble with was the bathroom accessibility lol but everything else...

I recently visited the masjid, and it was a really positive experience. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, which made it easy to focus during prayer. The interior was simple but beautiful, with the designs adding to the spiritual vibe of the place. I also noticed how respectful and welcoming the people were, making everyone feel at ease as soon as I walked in. It’s the kind of place where you can truly disconnect from everything...

I love this masjid, the people, the community they are the best welcoming people and I ever experienced anywhere. The masjid is beautiful and they are expending more to accommodate more people as more and more people coming to this masjid. I can't wait for more what the masjid has to offer...May the youngsters and new generations to continue building this community putting their love...
