Update 2023. The lazy river has been retiled and possibly the entire river has been retextured. Splashtown is no longer serving Pepsi products, hello Coca-Cola! Some of the premium seating that was installed last season is now covered. It is near the wave pool. Please note that if you are a legacy membership holder, you will probably have more benefits than current membership holders. The names may sound the same, but legacy platinum is more like current diamond. Be sure you know what your perks are before you go in case an employee is mistaken. With so many changes in the past few years, it's easy for someone not to know all the ends and outs.

Update: In the past 3 years the park has really stepped up their game. The wave pool functions and has higher waves that the HH in Oklahoma City. The Lazy river is nice and shaded thanks to the mature tree canopy. By and large the staff is friendly, though seemingly always being trained. It can be tough on them since there are so many ways for patrons to pay for items (passes, dining plan, legacy membership.) The drink locations are spread out now. While originally the rating was one star I'm changing it based on the improvements. Also, Splashtown may be the lowest priced waterpark in the Houston area. Good value. Definitely invest in a locker for your valuables. The burgers aren't very good, but the tenders and pizza aren't bad! End the day with a funnel cake from Island Bob.

TIPS-

  1. Legacy members (memberships) still have the same benefits as before, but they are not advertised at the park anymore. If you had Diamond level parking in the past, then you get preferred parking.
  2. Legacy Dining is still in effect if you are paid up. Eligible Meals are indicated with a (m) icon. Turley leg and mac & Cheese burger are NOT eligible
  3. Funnel cakes are not considered a snack, but you can scan your membership card and receive a discount.
  4. Diamond seating is now called preferred seating.
  5. New dining plans are different than the legacy, be sure to tell the staff you are paying with the dining plan to ensure ease of transaction. Sometimes the person behind the counter hasn't rung up a dining plan before (seems strange, but they must always be introducing new employees)
  6. The park is cashless, so pay with your dining plans or some type of card.
  7. ever notice how there are hundreds/ thousands of guests in the park and yet no line in the restroom? Come on people- use the restrooms! They are generally clean.
  8. First couple hours and last couple hours of the day are the least crowded.
  9. I noticed this the last couple times I have visited. You really don't need to wear socks at the park. It's a good idea to have foot protection when walking from the parking lot to the inside of the park, and also in restrooms, but socks in the water are a no no. I guess the folks wearing socks in the water have never been to a water park, but hopefully they will read this and plan accordingly.
  10. weak /non swimmers should avoid the wave pool. the rip currents are real and the depth is up tp 8 feet!
  11. if you forget sunscreen, buy it in the park- it can save your bacon.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Serious issues at this park. I did not have an adequate supply of member lanyards, passes or soft drink cups. The big new ride that is advertised with video on their website is still under construction. Clearly they are using footage from another Park and representing it as if it were this park. I did not see a single wave in the wave pool -perhaps you have to rent those too, six flags? Only a few restaurants and drink locations were open. Many of the larger rides we're not open. the open areas were fun however and the water felt nice. Trying to find an actual grown-up, you know, someone older than 16 years old is difficult at this park and that may be the source of...

First day at the newly rebranded Hurricane Harbor and looks like they have major management issues already. For one, it took 30 minutes to get into the parking lot. Why? Why do they not have one lane processing parking for season pass, another for cash/credit? The comes the inefficient security personnel which I walked by as there was no order. Went to replace my season pass and they tell me its $12 or download the app. While I'm doing this, there isn't anyone even at the door to check...ok. I just walked in and no one even checks.

Employees don’t know policies.CRAZY as their corporate site says your first replacement pass is free. Can we get someone that knows their corporate policies for the company they work for as the minimum requirement? Can you understand how frustrating this can be for a customer at the very least? After waiting in line twice at customer service and wasting about another hour I have to inform their supervisor -Diana Vasquez and some others up at guest services of their own posted Corporate policies on their own Six Flags site. Why is this so difficult? Where is the customer service? Let I add that the guest services office is an inferno with no air conditioning bringing a new meaning to hell. Park needs beyond much more high level management to handle before they fail after my first day entrance experience. It was by far the POOREST EXPERIENCE I’ve ever had with this park after the many changes in management in the last 15 years.

Then comes the restaurant areas- disorganized beyond words. How can they add so many more checkout points at the surf side cafe yet the line to get you food takes a good 30-45 minutes to traverse? How is this logistically possible? Not to mention there are very limited food options in the premium meal plan or any meal plan. Anywhere I went they were out of things that went with the actual meal or snack😖😫😩. Poor food planning and food management. It’s worst than the Southwest Airlines cattle call experience at their gates and a bag of peanuts. The amount of inefficiencies found was unreal for this large of a brand.

Other then some color and decor changes plus one new ride-which I will add isn’t even open on “opening day” the management skills set seems to be below it’s predecessor. How a park can stay closed since September 2018 until May 4, 2019, they may need to look into some new contractors while Six Flags attempts to downplay the metal worker that fell to his death a few weeks prior. Again, chalk this up to bad management.

Please please upper management needs to review this horrid experience and make it better for the patrons.

Their Regional manager needs to get his or her butt over here and seriously review the overwhelming inefficiencies of this park.

After several weekends of coming here since it’s rebranding, the experience seems to be getting worse each passing day.

Some even have posted up to two hours wait to get food. Today, it took 45 minutes to get into the parking lot and up to the gate entrance queue front. At 11, was advised food was not ready and told to come back 30 minutes after the posted service time. -Must be me, but thought this was what the signage was for. Maybe I seem to be missing something here...

The weekend before Memorial Day, I pulled into the parking lot just to be provided a sheet to go exit overflow and ask to park in a church lot three blocks away when there were plenty of open spots in the main lot?? Why even have people pull into the lot if this is the case? Complete lack of park management- did they not have any change management handle any of this? After waiting 30 minutes to get in the lot I had to turn...

My post has nothing to do with the slides but rather the rip off the food/drink concessions are and I will leave the rest of it out of this post as if you have been you already know. My family first time at Hurricane Harbour and just experienced the worst I have ever been treated in my life by the cashier. I paid $45 for the all day food/drink pass. Stood in line for 40 minutes before I got to the window. I ordered a pretzel and a lemonade…the cashier scans my pass and tells me there are no pretzels so I said ok I will have the nachos then. She asks again to scan my pass so she did then tells me it’s not valid … like what are you taking about? She scans it agin and tells me I am only good for the nachos and not a drink …. Again I asked what are you talking about I paid $45 for a supposed all day food/drink pass. She scans it again then asks me to stand off to the side where other people were waiting for their food. After 15 mins standing there waiting I watched 5 other people go through who ordered drinks as some had pretzels and nachos so I went up to counter and asked I see there is pretzels again so can I get my order pls. She says to me with an attitude and a smirk you can’t order anything because your pass is invalid for 90mins between orders. I said you never gave me anything and this is the first time I have ever been here or even ever ordered anything and she says with that smirk nothing I can do about it. And tried to ignore me … i wouldn’t let it go as now been an hour since I stood in line. I asked is there someone else I can talk to so another guy comes over asks to scan my pass so he does and then he tells me my pass is invalid! I explained the run around I have been getting for past half hour and then he says can’t give you anything as looks like you ordered and got food half hour ago! I said that was the cashier who kept asking to scan my pass 4 times over and over then told me to wait over here and i never actually received anything and he says again not getting anything until the 90 minutes is up! I tried my best to hold my temper but the level of stupidity was mind boggling so I got very heated as this escalated to the point where i refused I leave the window until I talk to their manager and get the food/drink i ordered and paid $45 for. Manager came and both attendants talked to her under their breath and made me sound like I am trying to pull some sort of scam by not waiting the 90 minutes between orders so she then tells me I have to wait between orders! I said are you fn kidding me write now … your attended improperly scanned my pass a half a dozen times making it appear my pass is invalid! I had to get even louder and stand my ground until they gave me the food/drink I ordered which the manager eventually did. Never in my 57 years have I ever seen such poor customer service and been treated that way! What a terrible first experience here and probably the last thanks to that … what a joke the whole all day food/drink pass is … I got one pretzel and drink for $45 as this was all at 3pm and they close at 6 …absolute rip off! Here is another tip for the owners … want to rip your customers off even more and bank more cash train your staff to move faster than Flash...
