Horrible service. We were shopping for a jacket for my son. Asked one of the male associates if he can check for a size up top. He quickly looked without taking anything down and said “we only have a large” and walked away without saying another word. (A decent customer service situation should’ve went like this, “we only have a large but I can check online or another store for stock to try to find your size”) I stopped him and said ok can we have the large so he can try it on? He came back started looking through the bottom ones that I had already looked through so I thought I’d be courteous and tell him I did look through them already if we can get the top one because it looked really big. He basically told I needed to have more patience that he knew what he was doing. I was very offended with what he said and told him he seemed like he didn’t want to look for a size in the first place and was being rude. He continued to argue with me and my husband finally had to tell him to just be quiet. Keep in mind I work in retail and I am an extremely nice person and full of patience. Come to find out he was the general manager. We found another jacket we liked in my sons size but decided to go elsewhere. We will not go back to this Columbia because of how he treated me. We’ve spent hundreds of dollars on all our snow gear...
Read moreIt was a relief to be able to return to the outlet stores after too long of a hiatus due to covid (and the draconian measures it has fostered). Upon entering the store I was pleasantly greeted by Erika. She is the reason for a great shopping experience. She took the time to check their back inventory for a particular style and size I was interested in. She also directed me to other options while I waited. They did not have the style and size I was looking for however there was another style with my size that I ended up purchasing. She was helpful, never rushed, and made me feel comfortable. She is a perfect example of exceptional customer service!
Also, unlike Nike's draconian measures for entering their store (Disneyland-like line), Columbia's ambiance...
Read moreI tried to buy two shirts and use a gift card they had gave me for a previous purchase two weeks prior. They acted like they had never seen the gift card before and had no clue how to apply it, despite giving out thousands of them the month before. After a thirty minute checkout process to buy two shirts I just walked out with nothing, despite being offered the shirts for free. Apparently, selling me two shirts requires competence beyond the scope Columbia can muster. After about two decades of buying Columbia products, I am never buying another Columbia item. This level of incompetence is pretty worrisome for a company that claims to manufacture gear you...
