I bought a nice suit but when I picked it up it had a plucked thread. I did not try it on...I just lifted up the plastic and it was right on the sleeve of the jacket and pretty obvious. Kind of like run in a nylon. As I'm trying to figure out what to do, the girl, wanting me to go to the men's department so they could deal with this, called an alterations person Alva or something like that, who then tried to make it seem like she could not find it. After pulling the thread taught she cut the end of the thread. It was better but I did not want to take it like that. She was quite rude and clearly did not want to spend any time with me. She made it seem that I had the problem because my new suit from their store was damaged. She called the men's department manager who made me feel the same way. Finally he offered to replace the jacket like he was doing me a favor. Anyway, I did not feel like waiting and having the jacket altered again. I bought the suit a month ago and did not have time to pick it up until tonight. I just ended up returning it. Such a waste. I needed a new suit too...it was a nice Ted Baker suit but it was probably for the best. I was genuinely surprised at the "who cares" level of service from the girl at the "service bar" to the alterations person to the men's shop manager. No big deal...I get better service at Walmart. I am...
Read moreWent to Bazille restaurant inside Nordstrom at the Thousand Oaks mall. My review is mixed. First the good: the crab bisque is excellent as are the cilantro chicken lime tacos and the crab mango avocado salad. Their cocktails are well made and the Cream Brule is one of the best I've had. Now the bad: seating in the booths is ripped apart on the seat bottoms and should have been addressed long ago and I noticed the same on some of the chairs at tables. This is Nordstrom not a 24 hour coffee shop in the seedy part of the San Fernando valley. They keep changing the menu and getting rid of exceptional items and replacing them with mediocre ones. For example crab cakes gone as is the scallops with lemon risotto and other items. The dessert, they removed the raspberry chocolate mousse cake which was later brought back due to demand and removed again. I don't know if the company is struggling financially or if there is simply and idiot in charge. Consistency creates comfort for customers, they should keep that in mind. I used to come in once or twice a week now it's once every couple or 3 months and I look at the menu first to see if anything is left that I want to eat. I can tell they're not as busy as they once were which will keep there staff looking for better jobs. I think corporate management better wake up...
Read moreNordstrom's Thousand Oaks is the best location ever! I went shopping over the weekend while they were having their biannual Anniversary Sale! The huge assortment of pre-sale items was wonderful. The vast amount of beautiful colors, assortments of lingerie and Summer clothing was great. I would highly recommend going to this mall in general. Each time I have come to the Oaks mall in general, I have had a positive experience. The security team was called to come escort my elderly mom and myself so we could get to the parking structure. She is 96 and bad become exhausted from walking. The mall had closed and I asked the security at Nordstrom's to call for a vehicle to get us to the parking lot where our car was parked.
This really has made my view of this shopping mall a A+++ experience and I will continue to shop there. Definitely worth the 20 minute drive from the SF Valley to Thousand Oaks. Thank you Nordstrom's for taking good care of my mom. It is sincerely...
