Coney Island Hot Dog Downtown Toledo — Restaurant in Toledo

I get a Coney Island Hot Dog downtown a one-star rating for the simple fact is it isn't because of any of the service the service was exemplary but the pricing of the food I got six chicken wings and french fries and it cost me $11 and change that's after tax my girlfriend got a cheeseburger and Fry cost her just about the same that right there is ridiculous those prices are insanely hot I understand you're located in our downtown but you should be a little bit more reasonable you're one of the original Coney Island so you should want to keep your customers and the only way to do that is with fair pricing the prices that you have are nowhere near Fair I can go home and buy a bag of chicken and by my own fries for less than the price of a meal in your restaurant so I don't see my business coming back there anytime soon unless you make some price changes even with the rise in food products to be purchased for restaurants you should still try to please your customers and when I ate there I was not...

Ok so this review has some bias - I fell in love with the staff. I walked in 15 minutes before close and they told me to make myself at home. They went WAY above and beyond what I would expect.

So the food - the coney dog(s), yeah I let them talk me into more than one, were solid. I liked the chili - it seemed unique. I was satisfied with the couple I had.

BUT, this place is all about the history and the relationships. Steph, Leo and Dawn were probably the nicest people I’ve ever met. I’m not sure what Leo’s job really is other than getting the waitresses riled up a little. The workers are gritty and passionate about this place.

It’s not the nicest, it’s not the best food, it’s not the best location. But I fell in love with it. I encourage EVERYONE to check it out. They’ve been around for over 100 years and there is so much goodness with the people and a great vibe!

We just moved to the area and stumbled across this place when there was nothing else open to eat at. It looked a bit run down and questionable as to if they were open. Walked inside and it’s definitely old school New York vibes! The staff was super amazing! We got the all beef hot dogs and our whole family (picky kids too) agreed they were the best hot dogs we’ve ever had! And we eat hot dogs all the time thanks to our youngest who requests them often.
