I have always loved Lululemon because of the quality of their items and I have purchased many things from them. I have very rarely had any issues with the quality of their products, but, if I did, it was always handled promptly. I recently had an issue with a pair of leggings that was not due to regular wear and tear. This pair of leggings was purchased less than a year ago and, based on their policy, I went to take them to be repaired or replaced based on the severity of the quality issue. However, the store manager refused to even look at my leggings, told me that they didnât qualify for the quality promise, and assumed that they were purchased over a year ago. When I insisted that they were within the year window (with proof of receipt!) she didnât look at it and told me that I probably saw a social media hack to get free leggings. I told her that I wasnât trying to do that and she told me âyou canât just come in once a year and get free leggingsâ and that âthe promise doesnât cover regular wear and tearâ even though I told her that this was NOT regular wear and tear. She continued to accuse me of trying to exploit the stores quality promise and told me that she could just give me 25% off of a new pair or give me the support number. After giving me the number, I asked for her name and she told me that she wasnât going to give me her name and said to just call the number. I walked out of the store in tears. When calling back to check, the store associate (âeducatorâ) refused to provide a tracking number at first and asked me to contact the online general customer service team. When being pushed again, a tracking number was provided by him but there is no tracking information beyond the initial status âlabel has been createdâ. Store claimed that FedEx picked it up three days ago and referred me to call online CS as this was beyond his responsibility.
When reaching out to the online team, they couldnât even locate my order number via phone/mailing address/email address lookup and suggested me calling back to the store. Although my Black partner and I were well attended to initially, the second I used the dressing room the demeanor of the staff changed. As he was waiting for me, the staff created an unwelcoming and prejudiced environment with their incessant pacing around and staring at my partner. The staff could not make their acts of profiling more obvious by explicitly leaving the cash register just to circle around him once more--even though he was right next to me for the remainder of our visit.
