Please note that my delay in responding, to this "Rate and Review" message from Bob's, in no way detracts from the relief my wife Madeline and I felt from the outstanding and unique assistance provided to us, by Mr. Vahram Citakian. My wife and I, like many of us, have had our share of miserable experiences struggling with bureaucracies over the years. I believe it eas Clement Freud who said, "When you hit someone over the head with a book and get a hollow sound, it doesn't necessarily mean it's the book that's empty." Believe me when I say that it's very unpleasant when the hollow sound you hear is coming from your own head. That's exactly the sound my wife and I were hearing, when we entered Bob's in Nanuet, NY, after the silence we heard after reaching out for help several times, to resolve problems with defective items we purchased. Well, you can believe me1 again when I tell you that there was no hollow sound to be heard when we left Bob's because we found the right person, Mr. Vahram Citakian. It really takes someone very special for me to write a formal thank you or to express approval in any manner. And so it is with great pleasure that my wife and I thank you, Mr. Citakian. The more usual attributes of a good professional such as superior knowledge of their field and the skills to apply it can be referred to easily in in Mr. Citakian's case. What deserves special mention are the rare qualities he possesses and observes to such a high degree that makes Bob's reputation thrive. I seldom go back to people who have done something for me because even if they have done an excellent job, they did not convince me that they were committed to excellence. The excellent outcome seemed random. With Mr. Citakian it was the opposite. He conveyed pride in his work with a determination to control both the input of his effort as well as the outcome of our intended solution. Combined with this are three of the greatest and rare qualities, trust, common sense, and a calm manner. He is a very warm and user friendly person. So, if my wife and I don't want to hear that hollow sound the next time we go to Bob's in Nanuet, NY, we know who to see...Mr....
Read moreMy fiancé and I just got our first apartment together so, we decided to go to Bob's furniture since we've heard nothing but great things from several people. We went in and met this amazing gentlemen Steve who was super helpful with us in looking into finding the best mattress for us. We decided to purchase it online and also gave the best option for a delivery date, we were SO HAPPY. A few days later we get a call from our sales guys to let us know we wont receive the mattress for at least 3 WEEKS! After speaking with him we receive another call from Oliver a few days later and tells us they did not receive a payment from us and we have to pay for the bed or we will not get it. We told him we paid for bed online and the money was withdrawn from the account and how it's already been a huge inconvenience we wont have the bed for another 3 weeks, instead of helping us with the issue he says "oh well you have to pay us for the bed". He didnt have any suggestions to help us besides going online until we asked should we come in and he said yes come in with a attitude demanding we pay them more money for the bed. We came in and ended up working with the store manager since oliver was completely useless upon our arrival to get this situation taken care of. We got our bed within the 3 days and even with the delieverly they messed up on time, they came 2 hours earlier than we requested. I want to thank the manager and steve for their help but, we will no longer use Bob's discount furniture for the rest of our furniture. Its a shame one reps bad attitude ruined potential returning clients.
UPDATE After two weeks of waiting for us to get the money back Bobs Furniture took our money and claimed they NEVER received it blaming it on our bank. Thanks to the bank we were able to get it get back i will never bobs again, Bobs is only a discount for their TERRIBLE...
Read moreIThe store in itself was great the sales people were helpful but Bob’s customer service is horrible (I understand this is not the store’s fault but customers should be aware of what they could be dealing with after purchasing at the store) . Our couch was supposed to get delivered between 9:15am-12:15pm. We received several texts confirming this time span; we even got an email the night before reiterating the time of delivery. We had someone come sit at our house for a few hours that we weren’t going to be home. Around 1:15pm still no couch, so we called customer service and the associate told us that due to inventory the delivery now has to be rescheduled. No email, no phone call, no text messages letting us know it needed to be rescheduled. Were they planning on just never letting us know and showing up one day with the couch hoping for the best?? Mind you, we had our old couch removed so there would be room for the new one and now we’re stuck with a furniture-less living room for over a week. We will NOT be using bob’s again and I advise anyone to not use them unless you enjoy not receiving your furniture on time and just not receiving any updates.
EDIT BECAUSE OF THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED (because I apparently can’t respond back): the issue was NOT that the couch is delayed. Yes, that is frustrating but it happens and is not a big deal. My point was that we received ZERO communication to let us know it was delayed. Instead WE had to call when our couch never showed up and they said oh yea you need to reschedule. So, while I greatly appreciate that you explained to me that delays happen in supply chains (wow, who would have thought!!???), please advise your customers that they will not receive any communication about their delivery being...
