H Nails & Beauty Spa — Attraction in Town of Clarkstown

Let me start by saying I stoped supporting this business a very long time ago, but decided to give it another try. I had a Regular Pedicure and a Gel Manicure done Monday 3/18/24 with the polish provided by H Nails. I called the next day to make the owner Michelle aware that it began chipping less than 24 hours after my service and some nails did not have top coat on it. Whomever took my call rushed me off the phone. The pedicure was rushed and poorly executed, I should have stoped there my mistake. I returned back Sunday 3/24/24 with my own OPI Polish (I’ve been using for years with no issue). The owner Michelle started to take the original polish off and initially decided that only 6 out of the 9 chipped nails deserved to be fixed. She takes a client and leaves me sitting in the chair for 15+ minutes and says nothing to me. Finally another tech Sarah takes over, immediately takes out the drill to further destroy what little bit of nail I have left after filling to death on the previous visit, my nails are super thin now. She files them with a regular file and it’s now time to paint them. Sarah says to me your polish is cheap and that’s why it chipped so bad, I’m sorry I did not use my own polish the 1st time I used the nail polish that’s available here. OPI is a reputable brand! With the Professional top coat I use I can see every FLAW under the UV LIGHT. There is topcoat going beyond every cuticle, missing polish on the corner and sides of the nails, there’s not enough polish in most places, it’s just a really poor job (I still tipped the tech, because it’s the right thing to do, not to mention the original tech received a healthy tip that wasn’t deserved honestly). I went back in to show the owner and she’s hiding from not only myself but another Customer who came in who’s nails needed to be fixed. The customers hair she claimed to be busy with was being washed by the tech who did my nails the 1st day.

The point here is that there is a really awful trend in Rockland county when it comes to certain people and the services we receive in these establishments. I don’t appreciate my pedicure being a rushed 15 minute job and when another person of not my race gets the same service they receive world class service for the same price , I have an issue with this !

Instead of rectifying the issue I was left to leave this not stellar review. Treat people appropriately. I witnessed a few people getting rushed services while I was there. It’s very upsetting. DO BETTER MICHELLE !

TERRIBLE SALON five years ago, this used to be the best salon in Rockland But the quality has become absolutely deplorable, not only for the services, but the customer service.I came here one day and experienced extreme racism with the nail lady telling me that I wasn’t gonna pay for my set and that I need to leave, when I typically come here and pay for the full set as well as a tip.

I decided not to come here to get my actual nails done anymore because of the terrible service and disregard for people (which feels extremely racist). I came to get my toes done during my work break, I called and asked how long it would take to do the toes and if there was any availability at the moment, Michelle told me the nails would take 30 minutes and there was somebody there ready to take me when I walked in. She had me waiting when I came in to sit in the chair, Longer than anticipated. Then when I sat down, the lady did not want to file my nails correctly and then offered me the file so that I could file them myself. . She then left Had someone else to follow my nails who also left for another 15 minutes and came back With someone else to paint my nails. At that point, I I was afraid I was gonna be late to get back to work so I asked how long it was going to take to finish the nails. She told me one more hour, when on the phone, she had said half an hour. At the point, I decided I had to leave. I will never come back to this nail salon. They are scammers racist, and liars and they up charge and change prices while you’re in the seat I would not recommend...

I've done my nails here all the time for 2+ years. I always paid around $60 for a French mani and they decided to charge me 80 today without informing me the prices had gone up. They said the nails were 50 and to do French was an extra 15, and to add rhinestones on top was another 15. It's never been this much in the past, and the owner already knew my nails were done to my dissatisfaction, as they didn't use the dip powder for my French as usual, they did a color despite me making it clear while they worked that it wasn't what I wanted (I wanted the clear dip powder after they explained it to me but why didnt they clarify it first?) and that I'd need to communicate better for "next time" probably be because it was close to closing time. You'd think for the error they would discount rather than overcharge. Then when it came to charging my card she hid the screen from me suspiciously. Wonder what she was hiding. Sad because this was my go to nail spot.

Don't rush the last clients out and overcharge us....we would rather reschedule or go elsewhere. Willing to give it another shot and see if they rectify...
