I’m not one to give bad reviews nor have I ever. If service is bad I take it with a grain of salt as everyone including myself has off days but this is deserving of my first. My family has eaten here for years. Before what appears to be new management and after. We have never had such a negative experience dining nor have we ever been talked down to by a waiter. From when he began with our drink order it seemed as if our presence in the restaurant bothered him. Rushing our drink order and staring at us with a disgusted and displeased look after we only asked for waters all around. The waiter proceeded to bring our waters to the table and demands with a strong tone of voice that my brother (who is 30 years old) “do not have your phone on the table”. This was very inappropriate and rude. After that we asked for a different waiter. He became irate and stormed off to the kitchen area where he then began slamming things and yelling. I spoke with the “manager” and she had no explanation or much to say but “sorry I’ll serve you instead”. After being spoken to and treated in such a disrespectful manner we left the restaurant. I spoke with a friend of mine about the incident and she also had the same experience with the same waiter. From this experience we will not be returning after many years of...
Read moreThis was the best place in Rockland. Been going there over 20 years. However, the prior owner Steve is no longer there. The new owners told me he is on vacation. That was about 6 months ago. I don't like to be lied to. However, never had a problem with the old owner. The place went downhill. I actually had the worse dinner takeout on Christmas. The white rice was not cooked and was crunchy. I mixed the rice over my Pepper Steak before knowing about the rice and the entire meal was ruined. Eating under cooked crunchy rice is not too fun. The pepper steak was about 70% cooked unions, 5% green peppers and 25% beef. During the summer, I ordered Bird's Nest which was one of my favorites for 20 years. Steve always gave me a nice large nest where I can place my entire meal into the nest. I ordered this with the new owners. I got home to find the nest is half the size as normal and I was not able to place my food into the nest which defeats the entire purpose of this meal. A message to the new owners...Please don't lie to the customers. Also, this place was a stable in the area for over 20+ years. If you cut corners, you will not last. It's a...
Read moreThe interior decoration was nice but way too many tables for the size of the restaurant. The wait staff was prompt and polite but I had a hard time communicating when I was ordering. They brought out complimentary fried noodles (chips) and a pot of hot tea. Enough to keep ourselves busy waiting for food. My son and I both ordered General Tso's Chicken from dinner combination menu and pork fried rice. It came with a egg drop soup, egg roll, chicken and choice of rice. The egg drop soup was too salty. I am used to very light egg drop soup. The General chicken was ok. The chicken wasn't crispy which I prefer and the sauce was little bit watery. I think perfect generals chicken is crispy and sauce that's sticky with strong flavor. The fried rice had a good smoky flavor but I felt that it needed more sauce. The fried rice was perfect when you had pieces of pork but there wasn't too many pork. The serving size for each dish was plenty. I couldn't finish my food. I would think that the price is on medium side with average dish costing around $12 to $15. I probably wouldn't come here again because of the cost and taste...
