We had a 3:45pm appointment, not realizing that they close by 4pm. We arrived on time but when I realized that my toddler needed a diaper change before going in, I called and let them know that we were there but I was having to change a diaper, pants, etc. The woman that answered the phone said āno problem, thank you for calling and letting us know youāre here.ā We walked in and were immediately made to feel extremely uncomfortable that we walked in a few minutes late. The hairdresser that dealt with us asked if I had called to let anyone know, to which I let her know that I did. She seemed upset at my response, Iām assuming she was hoping that she would have a reason to turn us away. She spent a while continuously making me feel like she was on the fence if they would take us or not. I just sat there while she spent a good ten minutes repeatedly telling the other hairdressers, along with someone on the phone that we had walked in late. This place is specifically for babies and small children, things like this happen from time to time. This hairdresser told me that each child has only 15 minutes max to have their haircut, which is just insane when dealing with toddlers and babies. The hairdresser eventually reluctantly took us. I asked for just a trim of my sonās hair and that I liked to keep it longer, like a bowl cut kind of thing. Iāll post the photos of the haircut she gave him to this review, they speak for themselves. Not only was it so much shorter at that point to fix but I strongly felt that she was taking it out on my son that we walked in late. I didnāt even want to ask the same woman to correct it and take up even a few more seconds of her time at my two year oldās expense. The hostility she had while cutting his hair was unbelievable.
Iād like to mention that we were originally scheduled for Saturday morning, when we would be in the immediate area. The original hairdresser that we were scheduled for called in sick, thatās completely fine, things happen (just as they do with toddlers.) We were rescheduled for the Sunday 3:45 appointment and we have professional photos that we were scheduled to take tomorrow but actually had to cancel because of how horrible my sonās hair is. The photographer advised that we cancel and reschedule when his hair āfills inā because she wouldnāt be able to do much to make it look normal.
Thereās not a huge amount of negative reviews for this place compared to the positives but there are many and if you read them, they all have the same exact complaints. It seems like itās a gamble. Needless to say, we wonāt be back to try my two year...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible experience. Giving 2 stars for the fact the nice woman on the phone accommodated us but little did I know we had been booked for the last appointment of the day. All was well when we walked in until the receptionist turned on this noisy balloon pump which scared the life out of my kid. He freaked out but I still calmed him down for the most part. However that took a few minutes and we were already booked 15 min before closing. I showed Carolyn the way I wanted it cut and that should have been my first clue to leave. She was surprised I wanted a haircut for my son that was shaped up. He is Hispanic and has thick hair and needs extra cutting around his neck and temples. So I said "well the best you can". She flew threw the haircut whilst coughing on us throughout (I had my son sitting on my lap because even though I had calmed him, they didn't do much to make him feel comfortable). He has 2 different sideburns and the front of his hair looks ridiculous . Absolutely ridiculous. And he was crying yeah but he wasn't moving around. The worst part though is he had this patch (a few actually ) of hair which my husband asked her to fix, after I had already asked and she kind of brushed it off. She gave my husband a huge attitude too. She brought the buzzers to my son and said " well I don't really know what you want me to do". I want you to fix it Carolyn. You know, the service we paid for! So I just said forget it it's fine Just leave it, because I didn't want him looking worse than he did. So now we both had on the Barbers's cape, to protect us from hair, though she didn't do a good job of making sure either of us were actually covered. We were both absolutely covered in hair at the end, and instead of cleaning my son off she just left hair all over his face and walked away. She got her jacket and purse and put them down on the counter and said "You guys good" because we were trying to get the hair off of my son's face and body. Basically telling us to get out. My son has school photos on Wednesday and now we have to go to the barber shop , and pay AGAIN, to attempt to fix what she ruined. We had come here because the barber shop is sort of rough on my son as he has cerebral palsy and tenses up easily. Figured a kids place would do better. Now I have to subject him to a second haircut because of this. I should have listed to my gut and the reviews...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could zero stars I would. Unfortunately against hearing negative reviews for this business, I decided to take my son here for his first haircut. The experience was terrible from beginning to end. I booked an appointment online with Yanet but was given Carolyn when I arrived. Although advertised as babyās first haircut, the hairstylist Carolyn seemed to have no experience cutting a babyās hair. She smelled of cigarette smoke, had no patience and butchered my sonās hair. The establishment looked like it had never been cleaned. She tried to get me to put my son in a dirty car covered in hair. I ended up telling her I will hold my son and she looked extremely confused. My son was crying and she continued to hold his head down to cut with sharp scissors while he was moving his head. Additionally when she messed up the back of his hair, she blamed it on my 6 month old stating that he moved his head and thatās why she cut off too much hair. Despite me asking her to give me a minute multiple times to try and calm him down she aggressively continued to snip hair off his head and did not care that it was going all over my sonās face, eyes and all over me. He was left with an uneven and sloppy haircut. On top of all of this, she did not keep the first lock of hair as advertised in their package. At the end of the haircut when she was told that my appointment was the ābabyās first haircutā, another staff member went back to the area and scooped up hair. I donāt even know if that hair belongs to my son. I will never go back to this establishment. My sonās head reeked of cigarette smoke after the haircut. If thatās not enough, the package also included a photo of my son after the haircut. The front desk woman had no patience and snapped a photo of my frowning child. When she showed it to me, I asked if we could try for a smile. She stated ā just use this photo, heās not going to smileā. Needless to say, I reluctantly paid for a service that was horrible and ran out of there as fast as I could. This company and the staff are not trained to deal with young children. As far as I am concerned, their advertising and marketing is fake. Youāre better off going to a barber or salon with actual hair...
