I just saw the last review posted for this place and felt that I should set the record straight. I was there that day - and the young lady in question wasn't choking, she was coughing and it was that deep rattle and she was sick. She had a tissue in her hand she was spitting stuff into and she was coughing for a while and the man behind the counter offered her water. She ignored him and kept coughing. Finally he said, "if you are sick, would you please wait outside." I was standing at the counter when this happened and he was very polite and never said "damn kids." but one of their party had some mean things to say on the way out. Personally, I thanked him and so did the man behind me. I'm quite tired of people going out who are sick and passing it along to others instead of staying home and not subjecting everyone to their disease. I found the shop had great things and the service was impeccable. Just thought I should set the record straight for what was a very kind action for...

Great shop! They have a huge variety of items to choose from (HUGE!) and the prices are very reasonable. We even saw a few of the same items (photo frames) at Surf Style down the street, but they were $3.00 less at The Florida Shell Shop! Most of their merchandise, though, we didn't see available anywhere else. Their items range from kitshy to sophisticated and everything in between. Something for everyone!

On so many of our past trips to Treasure Island, we always said we wanted to stop in, but for some reason or another we never made it. This past trip in October 2020, we made a point to stop and check it out and we're so glad we did. Got some great items for family and friends as well as for ourselves. Plus they were open at 8pm on a weeknight on our way back from dinner at O'Maddy's (our favorite restaurant in the area!)
