I originally called several different places regarding the stereo system in our boat.
I took my boat to be winterized fall of 2021 and picked it up in the spring of 2022 when I picked up our boat the stereo was not working and I took it back to the repair shop and they forgot to re-hook a wire to our stereo which they were able to fix within seconds. A few days later our stereo stopped working. I did not know how to fix the wiring system and we did not have a stereo all summer on the water and naturally being frustrated I didn’t want to go back to the place I took the boat for winterization so I waited towards the end of the summer to start calling different places who worked on boat stereos I contacted this business and spoke with Jayson. I shared my concerns and my hesitation with him and that I was very nervous about taking my boat somewhere again not to mention what’s involved and getting my boat to a stereo shop Ie I have to drive 45 minutes south of Columbus and pick up my boat at the lake and drive an hour to take it in for the stereo to be repaired. In addition we are selling this boat because we now need a different type of boat for wakeboarding and wakesurfing and I shared with him my concern about putting more money into it but I would like to get the stereo working for the next buyer.
I made my appointment six weeks in advance for the end of the summer season and once I was there within minutes Jayson was able to fix the top speakers so that we had sound coming out. In addition, he later troubleshooted the internal problem of why the speakers on the inside by the seats were not working and I am very happy to say that they were very professional and he worked with me because we were price sensitive about this boat since we can no longer use this boat for our family.
In closing, I would like to say I recommend Jayson and his staff to take care of your valuable assets as he did ours. Just clarify all charges beforehand so you are not left frustrated...
Read moreI took my ride at the scheduled appointment, shortly after they opened. They had my vehicle 2 full days plus had to stay 50 minutes after they closed at the end of the 2nd day, to complete an install for a subwoofer and amp. I also feel like I was overcharged. I did tell Donald this and expressed my frustration with this service and the amount I was charged.
Response: I was told you would have my vehicle for a complete day, which, to install a subwoofer, amp is a bit long. It took 2 complete days. The 'custom work' involved no cutting, which, is stated on the manufacturers description of the enclosure. But also, here is what is stated for the installation of that 'custom work': The installation time for an SSV Works rear storage compartment 10" subwoofer enclosure for the Polaris Slingshot can vary, but it generally takes around 3 hours. This estimate assumes you are following clear and easy-to-understand instructions and have basic mechanical skills. The installation involves mounting the enclosure, wiring the subwoofer, and potentially securing it to the vehicle
I do understand things don't always go as planned. But, what you are calling 'custom work' is removing a storage compartment door and replacing it with a subwoofer enclosure specifically for that vehicle and that compartment, again no cutting involved. I am aware there are a lot of screws involved, but not 16 hours worth.
I give credit when credit is due. Columbus Car Audio has done work on my vehicles in the past and has done a great job. However, this is highly unacceptable and deserving of a 1...
Read moreBeing the first time I ever did an audio install on any vehicleI I had some hills to climb and a small mountain, meaning I had many issues. But only after putting in all my hours of work and consistency messing around for days troubleshooting no sound from my install I just couldn't take it anymore and broke down by calling Columbus Car Audio and accessories in Reynoldsburg, OH for help. This is where Nathan answered and I explained my newest and most frustrating problem to him, and he without hesitation told me to come into the store and he will take a look at my install and see where it all went wrong. After going through my system he quickly came to a conclusion that my DSP was not outputting any sound on any channels but one, and more than likely was malfunctioning. He pointed out also that my new head unit had a DSP built into its interface so I could just do without the faulty DSP. I eliminated that DSP and hooked my RCAs directly to my amplifier and boom! It sounded ten hundred times better because I now had output on all my channels. I truly appreciate Nathan's selfless act of helping find this issue in a timely manner because it would have saved me who knows how many more days of troubleshooting. He has earned a new loyal customer of myself and I will think of his service before recommending anyone but Columbus Car Audio to anyone I know who has audio concerns. Thank you Columbus Car Audio in Reynoldsburg and to...
