Update- I've changed it to 5 stars for their customer service being quick to respond and resolve the issue. They were very apologetic and helpful. They sent me back to the store, which was an inconvenience for us, but they gave me 10 days and told me to let them know if I needed longer. I received a partial refund and we were given the star earrings we originally wanted. At the store, Lisa the manager was very helpful and made sure we were taken care of!
I just took my 10yr old daughter there to get her ears pierced, the 2nds on her lobes. The right ear went great, but not the left ear... the first time the lady tried, the earring didn't go all the way through. She had to take it out of my daughters ear and re do it. When she re did it, I realized it had the wrong earring. Not the cute little stars my daughter wanted, but a 3mm cubic zirconia. The lady was going to remove the wrong earring, from the ear that had been pierced 2x already and then re do it with the star earring, but my daughter said her ear hurt too bad too touch, so she removed the star from her right ear and re pierced it with the matching wrong earring. I go to pay for all of this and after being told it would be $30, I was charged $40, I guess it was $10 more for the earring we didn't even want. The cashier was very nice and apologetic. But the lady that pierced my daughters ears told us at least 3x that "it's not my fault". An apology and taking responsibility for not checking the earring in the gun would have been nice but we won't be coming back here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIF YOU ARE LOOKING TO GET YOUR EARS PIERCED DO NOT EVER GO TO CLAIRES:
Do not got to Claire's to get your ears pierced or your kids. Please go to a tattoo and piercing shop. No one at Claire's has been trained or certified to pierce ears. A piercer at a tattoo shop is actually certified and trained. Piercing guns hurt more, have a high chance of infection, damage, and scar tissue build up, and the same gun is used on every single person who goes to Claire's. A piercing gun forces a dull earring into your ear. A needle (at a piercing shop) actually hurts less and is the proper way to get ears or anything pierced (there may even be an option for numbing cream), it is also more sanitary/clean the needles are only used on you. Children and babies can get their ears pierced at a tattoo shop. Tattoo shops and needles aren't scary, please make the educated option.
Really disappointed that in 2021 people and places like Claire's are still promoting ear piercing with uncertified people and piercing guns which have been proven to not be the best way to get...

Cost more than the other earrings so when was at the register I noticed one of the earrings was missing the back & asked nicely if there was any chance I could get another back. There was another employee standing next to the cashier that I was talking to & she jumped in & hatefully said Iād have to buy one. The cashier waiting me said sheād go get me one.
