Found out about a Modern PPTQ the night before and tried to find out the sign up and tournament start time to no avail, drove two hours the next morning and arrived at 1130 to find out it started at 11 and sign up was at 10. Their Facebook, Official website, and the Official Magic event finder all listed the store as opening at 11 AM on Saturday. With this information available to me I decided it was safe to assume the tournament started at noon given that most stores don't change their actual opening hours based off a small to medium size tournament. Upon arrival I was greeted promptly and I said wanted to sign up for the PPTQ and was told it had already started. The clerk and I began to exchange conversation and I pulled up the Wizards Asylum website and Facebook to show that neither said anything about the tournament or that the store opened an hour early on Saturdays for these type of events. The best reply I got from the clerk was "Well.. we posted it to a Tulsa area Magic Facebook group." Then the store owner and/or Manager came and spoke to me and said "It's your fault for not calling ahead of time find out when it started" after I politely suggested that they might keep up with and pay attention to their actual website and official Facebook page. I had already accepted that I missed out on the tournament before it got to this point and was trying to point out that there are potential customers who rely on them to keep up with their online responsibilities. The customer service aspect of this interaction is what has me here writing this. I will most likely never return to this store for anything.
TLDR Version; I was led to believe that the store didn't open till 11 AM from all available information online, after closing hours from the prior day (so calling is not possible), and I arrive to be told they opened an hour early for the tournament i wanted to play in and that it was my fault that I didn't know they opened early for these types of tournaments...
Read moreHas the most variety of Dungeons & Dragons (DND) stuff like figurines, books, stuff for models or modeling or I forget what you call it but for example there was a box to make or see what you’d see in game of a place for a warlock or something like that. Best description I have, forgive me, however it was very cool, I didn’t see any DND dice but that does not mean that there wasn’t. For Pokémon fans/lovers they have a bunch of variety stuff there and a variety of comics and trading cards. They have Funko Pops that I’ve never seen at Game Stop, Vintage Stock, I know Too Deck doesn’t but Too Deck does have many DND stuff such as mini or regular or big dice and some figurines but I found that at Wizards Asylum Comics & Games that they have a wide and I mean a wide variety of figurines that Top Deck doesn’t have. I highly recommend stopping by here for new and different DND stuff if you looking for more that you cannot find or perhaps something may be here that Top Deck won’t or doesn’t have or that Vintage Stock won’t or doesn’t have. At least give this place a try, just look around, who knows you may love this place or you many not. Depends on your preferences and what you find of interest. This is my store now!! Going here for my DND stuff and same for my husband!!!!!! Now dice again don’t know if they actually had any DND dice I didn’t look too too much when I went there but I would think they would or do?? If they don’t stop by Top Deck for mini, regular, or bigger DND dice. Otherwise you can get dice from Vintage Stock but it’s worth more the money by getting dice at Top Deck Games price wise. Go check out Wizards Asylum and I hope you find it to seek out your...
Read moreWizards asylum is a decent shop. At its heart, they've got a great selection of almost everything nerd related. Solid selection of monthly comics and a decent selection of back issues and a fair amount of Wall comics and large cache of graphic novels. A pretty sizable selection of pop vinyls and other toys. Everything from Marvel Selects to the DC line. But wizards really shines when it comes to table top games a really wide variety and range. A fairly accommodating section for live table top gaming as well. My problem with wizards asylum is the staff. Not overly friendly or helpful. When and if you can attract attention.. don't expect a grade A reception. The clerks are brusk and hurried and will certainly point you in the right direction if you have questions. But I can never seem to shake the feeling that this is definatley not my LCS and my go to shop for comics. And that I am a foreigner here. Wizards is a solid shop. Go there and check them out. You won't be disappointed by the selection. It's always a bee hive of activity and perhaps That is why the employees are so hurried. It is a popular spot in Tulsa and a staple for many a collector and gamer. I really really like wizards asylum. But at the end of the day, I don't love it. But that's not necessarily...
