I want to start this off with our server is 5 stars the cook tonight was 0.
tonight my family and I went for dinner at 7ish we left at 840. I want to say this was in no way our waitress fault but the cooks. we ordered for 4 with an extra dinner to go. after 45 mins of waiting for food all of my family is served but me. our waitress went back to ask for my food and my to go order (same as my dine in meal) was done but mine was not, why because they didn't have any gravy. no big deal, wrong I heard the cook say it would be 15 mins until it was ready. my family starts eating and I can hear my poor waitress asking the cooks why my to go order was done BEFORE my dine in. after waiting another 5 to 10 she takes the to go order and microwaves it so i can at least eat with my family. she comes by drops off my food and apologizes. i didn't let her know I knew what was going on. she goes and asks them again for my to go order since it had to be remade, and the cook looses it. "im a cook I dont have to listen to servers. I can walk away right now." I heard prior to this another server complaining to them about wait times. they were in no way busy maybe 4 tables sat in the whole place. we were seated about 3 rows of booths across from the kitchen so no where close but still able to hear the cook berating the servers. i brought this to the attention of our server and the manager because no server deserves to be treated this way. after speaking to the manager I heard another server ask for the kids meal for her table. the cook said it had already gone out. turns out the cook made my daughters food and ignored the 2nd servers ticket. when thr 2nd server asked about the fries to go with the burger the cook again huffed and puffed. this is so unprofessional. I work in a restaurant I know how hard it is on those servers if food takes way too long because the cook is being petty. KUDOS TO THR SERVERS. as for the cook in the pinkish/purple head covering blondish hair and mask not covering his nose, SHAME ON YOU. Do not make thr guests suffer due to your poor planning. make the dine in portions of the tickets first then the to go. and never berate the servers for your mistakes, and remember you are in an open kitchen dining can hear you and if you plan on saying shes just a server remember without servers you...
Read moreMy family and I planned to have a weekend breakfast before I left town, and we had a great experience. My sister is not a morning person and was running late but during the time we were waiting for her to arrive we were not just left to sit and wait, but frequently revisited by the waitress where she would check in on or drink needs and if we had gotten an order from my sister and wanted to get started. Shortly before the rest of our table arrived more workers came in and rather than letting the new waitress just wander over and let us know she was taking over the section of tables, our original waitress came over ahead of time to give us a heads up that we would be taken care of by someone else and said her goodbyes. We didn’t have to wait long before our new server came around and let us know that she knew we were waiting on someone and if we needed anything to let her know. Very quickly following this the rest of our dinner party arrived and rather than rush up and get a drink order she waited just the right amount of time for us to say our hellos and for them to get settled into their seats. Their drinks also made it to the table very quickly and our order was taken and entered. The food was amazing and as soon as it was clear, we were most likely done with our meal, our wait staff appeared and got boxes and returned very prompt with our check and made sure we understood how to pay our tab.
The tables were very clean, and the dining atmosphere was lively without seeming chaotic. Most of the pricing ranges from $10-$20 per person. Over the time I have frequented this restaurant the quality of the food has remained the same and is very enjoyable. Sometimes the fruit can be a little less than exemplary but otherwise I enjoy what I order. Overall, I very much enjoyed eating here, as I typically do, and would highly recommend this location to those looking for a delicious breakfast or a homely...
Read moreFirst of all, the hosts are the first people we see when we walk in…they should look, act and speak pleasantly!! Give your girls a brush!!
Our table was wiped quickly with a dry rag from the host podium. The mess was just wiped to the seats. Waitress was busy…but seemed like she can’t handle the load because she was very impatient. Even made rude comments to hosts in front of patrons…like, “don’t seat anymore people in my section unless you’re gonna help me”, commented her use of the vacuum, talked openly and loudly about her embarrassment of another groups untidy table…as if she intended to gossip with the white group about the competence of the brown host.
Three groups were seated around the same time as us-a Hispanic party first, then us and then a white party was seated as we were having our order taken (so a good 15 mins later approx). The white party made a big deal of their dirty seating, while although ours was dirty too-we just took care of it ourselves, seeing that the place was busy. Our food took a good 45mins to an hour to be received and within that time: 1) the white family, who ordered last of the 3 parties, received their food and were eating before us other BROWN families; 2) the white family got amazing treatment; 3) instead of approaching me like a human, our waitress poked me in my back saying, “did you want more water” as she walked pass our table. Upon finally receiving our food, it was COLD, bacon was HARD and overcooked and food just had no taste.
As a patron familiar of Black Bear Diner in MULTIPLE states, we have always received great service…which is why we always look forward to dining there. We just ate at this location 3 days prior and received wonderful, attentive service-which is why we chose to eat there again during our stay. The interaction of this visit has left a bad taste in our mouths-much more than...
