My wife and I were on a driving trip and decided we would stop in Twin Falls, Idaho. We decided to stop a little earlier than we originally intended so we could enjoy a little time together at a hotel. We were excited to find a LaQuinta in Twin Falls since we have stayed at several and have always had good experiences. My wife and I checked in some time after 8pm, took everything up to our room (including durable medical equipment), unpacked it all, and I got in the shower. Before I was done with my shower I was up to my ankles in water. The water was filthy and had long hair in it that was not mine (I have very short hair). My wife had to get re-dressed as she was ready to get in the shower after I was done but, obviously did not want to shower in a filthy shower. I called the front desk clerk about this issue and she assigned us another room. She asked that I come down and get key cards for the new room, which I did. It was across the hall from our current room and when I saw the room I noticed that it was smaller and not as nice, but I did not want to talk to the front desk clerk again because I did not want to consume any more of the time my wife and I had left to spend together enjoying our stay. Unfortunately, I did not inspect the room closely before we moved all of our belongings over and unpacked it. The last thing we brought over was our bathroom bags. When we looked in the shower, it was visibly filthy with hair all over the bottom of the tub. At this point, my wife was exhausted due to severe health issues and stress from the situation. I went down to the front desk clerk and told her about the condition of the room and that the room was smaller and not as nice as the first room we had paid for initially. She assigned us another room on another floor and apologized to me telling me what we experienced was unacceptable. She told me there were new housekeepers and surmised that the rooms were not adequately inspected after they were cleaned. She also suggested I speak to the manager in the morning about this issue. I inspected the third room before I moved my wife and our belongings there and it seemed clean to me (although like the other two rooms, it had visible stains on the carpet). I moved everything to the third room by myself and unpacked because my wife was no longer physically able to help due to moving and unpacking in the previous two rooms and the stress from the circumstances. I brought my wife up to the room last, we both showered and went to bed. By that time it was after midnight and any hope of spending time enjoying our stay before we slept was gone. The next morning I asked to speak with a manager and was told by a front desk clerk that the manager was in a meeting but she could help me. I explained what happened the previous night and the front desk clerk told me she would discount my room to $38. She indicated that there were notes in my file from the night time front desk clerk and she knew about the situation. I asked if it would be appropriate to compensate us with a free night and she said she would. When I checked out, I was helped by the manager (his name tag said regional manager). I asked to have documentation that I was not being charged for the previous night and he gave me a receipt that indicated zero charge for the room. We ate breakfast that was included with the purchase of our room before we left and both my wife and I had diarrhea for most of the rest of our trip that day. It was so bad we almost could not finish our trip. We had not eaten anything else but the hotel breakfast (omelet, potatoes, and sausage) and the onset of the diarrhea happened after we left the hotel. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a LaQuinta. It was very disappointing because we have always enjoyed our stays at LaQuinta...
Read moreI stayed here around July 3rd this summer and couldnât wait for the next time Iâd need to spend the night in Twin Falls. That day came yesterday! We were thankful to snag a room since a lot of dog friendly hotels in the area were booked or extremely overpriced. Upon arriving, someone not very nice was berating the woman working the desk which was unfortunate. The guest ahead of us hadnât booked a room anywhere in the city and was surprised at how full the hotel was. She shouldnât be surprised, itâs one of the best hotels in the city and SHOULD be booked up! We checked in with no issues (and hopefully more friendly vibes than the lady ahead) and were given keys to our room and treats for our dogs. The room was a well appointed double queen room which was not only spotless, but had a large flat screen with Directv, Pantene shampoo and conditioner, a full sized new hairdryer, framed mirrors, and easy access to the outdoors, which was perfect for the dogs. Ice water with fresh cut lemon and lime was always available in the lobby. Lots of places to take the dogs out in grass and there were poop bags were provided. Large indoor swimming pool with atrium and nice little gym with treadmills, elliptical, bikes, and some weight lifting equipment, as well as space to stretch. The lobby looks like a fancy new cabin, with oversized chairs and great decor. Breakfast was average, not my favorite thing to write about but it was provided. Best thing out was the Chobani yogurt and fresh fruit. There is also a mini mart with everything youâd need, from a Mosel region German Reilsing wine to Budweiser, chapstick to bandaids. Finally, itâs close to great views and scenic canyon rim trails, Costco, restaurants, and gas stations. Itâs also close to major highways. I canât say enough great things about this hotel or our stay. This is our go to place and we will be back every time we stop...
Read moreWe checked in around 9 oâclock and there was one man at the front desk that was on the phone after he finished the phone call he said whatever to the lady and rolled his eyes and then looked up at me didnât say how could I help you or anything like that. I told him my name and I wanted to check in. He gave me my key cards and that was it didnât tell us where our room was or how to get there. We get up to our room and it was very large, clean and nicely updated but thatâs where the pros end. We then find out that we only have down feather pillows in our room, so I call down to the front desk and ask if we can have foam pillows brought up to us and I was told that wouldnât be a problem but 30 minutes later we still didnât have anything and itâs now 10 PM. My husband calls down to the front desk again and he was told that they only have feather pillows and if we wanted something else we shouldâve brought them. The room itself it was actually very noisy. You could hear people running up and down the hallway, your neighbors, upstairs walking, and all of the traffic outside so because of the pillows and this issue, neither of us really got any sleep. We went down to breakfast and nothing was kept restocked. The eggs, hashbrowns and sausage were always out the waffle batter was constantly out. We waited for 30 minutes and still never got any sausage. There was only one person doing the whole breakfast buffet. Upon checkout, we brought up the pillow issue and we were told that all of the pillows were hypoallergenic and we said thatâs like telling somebody with a peanut allergy to put peanuts inside of a pillowcase and it would be OK. Very disappointed...
