It is a bit strange because if your coming from Downtown Vancouver... it's like suddenly you went back in time or something. It's a striking difference! I was looking for the highway on ramp... and must've missed it, because I was suddenly in a neighborhood straight out of a family TV show from back in the 50s or 60s. Every single (what I first assumed were houses) bldg. Was just a cookie cutter copy of the last one... the yards were all perfectly manicured from every corner to curb. The perfectly spaced trees that lined the street shaded the sidewalks perfectly. They all had little signs out front that advertised the name and nature of their business, that matched the coloring of the houses.
Unfortunately, I had no business with any of the places... so I can only comment about the street view. I can only assume they are lovely as well.

Read moreThe Columbia Land Trust is a great non-profit land conservation organization! They do incredibly important work saving and restoring land in both Oregon and Washington. In addition to working closely with local communities and land owners to protect land they do amazing restoration work of the lands they care for. Their project to remove an old road from the Klickitat River floodplain in order to allow the land to be restored to its natural state I thought was particularly wonderful. We need more organizations doing conservation work like this in the beautiful PNW! Keep up the good work...
