I have been a AAA customer for many years and have taken various cars to your shop over the years for oil changes and repairs. Yesterday took my 2015 Kia Sorento to your store at 11126 Capital Blvd Wake Forest to have inspection done but I told the staff that I had a brake light out on the driver's side. I had replaced the bulb, but it only worked intermittently and needed attention.
I was told that the socket was bad and needed replacement and was charged a price of $164.99 for the part and another $84.99 (less 10%) for labor. Additionally, I was told that I needed to replace the wiper blades and was charged $59.98 for these. I knew that the wiper blades were getting older, but I have been driving for 48 years and had driven the car in one of our recent downpours with no visual problems. I fully know when it is time to change out wipers and this was NOT necessary!
Including the diagnostic fee of $75, a "supplies" fee of $32.72 (what kind of supplies?) and tax of $29.95 I got out of there for a grand total of $458.26.
Now I know that all businesses need to make a profit and have no problem with that. For 20 years I was controller in the HVAC industry, so I am fully aware of markups on parts. However, I left your store yesterday feeling that I had been totally raped! Therefore, I checked parts prices on the internet and found that the markup on the socket ranged between 260% and 500% AND I was charged for labor to install it! Additionally, I the markup on the wipers was 200% which was, honestly, expected.
Overall, I felt like I had been taken hostage on the wipers to get the inspection passed and I felt ripped off on the socket. Over the years I have felt that your store was overall one of the "good guys" in the car repair market and that your pricing was pretty fair. Additionally, I have referred friends and family members to your store for repairs and maintenance. NO MORE!
Before leaving you, I just wanted to let you know how disappointed I am that a shop using the AAA name to attract customers has allowed this level of greed to take over and drive you to take unfair advantage of your customers.
Enjoy your money as you will get no...

Due to complications that could have not been AAA's fault, they had the vehicle for 8 days. I received the truck back and noticed a series of items that weren't working that were working before AAA got the vehicle: the driver's door lock and unlock button no longer functioned, the back up collision warning alarm no longer worked, and the fan that heated and cooled the truck's cab ran on full blast and could not be turned off or turned down. Additionally, there was a large gouge in the paint on the front passenger door. I returned the truck to them the following Saturday and told him I'd be out of town and would be back on the following Thursday, which is today, I just got off the phone with them and the truck is not ready for pickup. I found this very disappointing. I found room to excuse some of the small errors made reinstalling the dash in where some of the functions weren't fully restored. However, having the truck an additional 4 days and not being able to address these issues is unacceptable. Note, I'm leaving this review before I'm in possession of my vehicle knowing that these reviews can be amended. In the end they had the vehicle for an additional 7 days, Saturday to Saturday. It was difficult not having the truck for the 14 or 15 days they had it in total. Everything appears to be working properly now. And during the period of this repair, the shop changed to a new manager. He's an experienced gentleman and he seemed like a relatively good fellow. He didn't charge me for an additional repair they felt they needed to make and I wish them luck...
Read more(AAA is a approved installer of Tire Rack. I had two trailer tires sent to them last week) I scheduled an appointment two days in advance with AAA Car Care Ctr-Wake Forest. I loaded the two trailer tires in my wife's car and she went to the appointment. When she got there she talked to the service desk and they told her they needed to contact their manager. Not sure if it was their District manger or what. After a bit they said the manager had not returned their email? They said they had no way of calling him and did asked if she just want to leave or wait for the email? They said the issue was that they could not install tires on rims without taking a picture of a VIN number???? It's a trailer tire they should of known that when they received them a day earlier? Why didn't they call? Now I couldn't find anyone with an appointment available. I finally found another Tire Rack installers Mr. Tire Auto Service Center 11011 Wakefield Commons Dr. Raleigh NC 27614 984-304-7232. They were great! I 100% recommend Mr. Tire. Also I purchased tires from Tire Rack for my Camaro a month ago and 3 years ago. The 3 years ago I had Tire Rack send them to AAA in Wakefield. Well my car front tires are a different size then my rear tires. AAA installed one larger tire on the smaller rim and a smaller tire on the larger rim. I drove for a month before I figure out something looked strange. AAA did get me in quick to change the tires but why would either of these...
