CaliPhonia Phone, Computer Repair & Data Recovery — Attraction in Walnut Creek

Water damaged my phone the Friday before Easter but didn't notice until Saturday. I took it in to Caliphonia Saturday and was able to get a quote and drop off my phone immediately. The holiday meant the replacement part my phone ended up needing took a bit to get in, but whenever I called for updates the folks in charge very kindly let me know where they were in the process. My mom was able to pick up the phone for me on Tuesday and the charge for the remaining repairs was actually $20 less than I was quoted which as a very nice surprise! All things considered this was a very affordable and relatively fast service and I appreciate the staff being patient with me when I did call, anxious to know when it would be done.

Edit to add: dropped the rating from 5 to 4 stars. Unfortunately my screen has had some troubles since the repair, up to and including becoming fully unresponsive when the original problem was just that the edges of the screen didn't work. I got it back Tuesday and the problems began Wednesday night, though most resolved with a restart. Friday morning however i couldn't get the screen to respond to any input besides my fingerprint to unlock it, meaning I couldn't tap to restart even though holding the power button brought up the restart menu. I went to the Walnut Creek store at 11:10 to see if I could speak with someone as no one picked up the phone at 11, waited until around 11:30 and left when the shop was still closed. I sent in a message on the website with my inquiry but haven't heard back and in the interim just went ahead and bought a new phone. It is worth noting that I was able to brute force my way out of the problem by getting my fingerprint wrong 5 times and after another restart it resumed mostly working, but every few hours it goes back on the fritz. I'm just chalking that up to it being a bit in the older side. Would still recommend this shop for the price and turn around time but they can be a little hard to get ahold of and the shop hours seem inconsistent compared to what's posted online...

I initially brought my custom PC in for a diagnosis on a malfunctioning fan and a loose liquid cooling radiator. I attempted the cabling myself but I didn't know what I was doing so the cables ended up being a mess and it was hard to diagnosis any of the issues. Moe told me that in order to accurately solve the issue he would like to rewire everything and cable it for me. He also said he would check all the components to make sure they were installed and working correctly. The cabling was a big job considering I had LED cables, an LED hub, fan cables, system fan cables, cables for USB ports on the outside of the case, and all the internal components that needed power. Moe gave me a very fair price for the work he had to do. When Moe was finished and I went to pick it up, I almost didn't recognize my computer. It looked amazing! He had all the components working, even the fan I initially had trouble with. He also was able to secure my liquid cooling radiator so it was no longer loose. The fans for my radiator used to run full speed all the time but now that they were communicating with the CPU, everything was a lot quieter. The cables that were a mess before were now hidden and cabled very neatly. He also had all the LEDs in sync. He was able to solve all my issues and make my computer look great. I notice most of the reviews are about phones and tablets but Moe can also diagnosis computer issues, even custom built PCs which can be pretty complex. If I have any issues in the future, I'll definitely be taking my computer or phone here for repair...
