TL;DR - Decent food. Decent prices. Absolutely ABYSMAL service.
Full disclosure, I was in the service industry for 13 years so, my perspective may be skewed a bit. That said, I personally believe that my experience grants me an understanding of what is and isn’t a reasonable failure in a service experience. This was a COMEDY of errors from the moment we sat down.
We came for brunch on a Saturday that wasn’t particularly busy but not slow either. There was no wait but few empty tables. We were sat at a small booth near the bar where the manager was sitting working on a laptop. I figured since she was sitting in view of us, she was at least on some level supervising her staff. We only waited a couple minutes for someone to ask us for drinks. We asked a few questions, he had no answers, just a frozen stare. We asked him for a coffee and an appetizer but, apparently this gentleman was just for water, which he promptly brought but, everything else we asked for was forgotten the second he stepped away. The server arrived later and we're able to order our entrees and clarify everything else. She seemed intermittently confused but competent enough for a brunch shift I suppose. I made the mistake of ordering drip coffee here despite the warnings of my companion and quickly regretted my decision. Moving on...
The appetizer came out and the cocktails quickly after both being brought out by different people indicating an efficient team service environment. Good times. The fun began about twelve minutes later when the FIRST entree came out. A young man came out of nowhere, dropped an entree on the table and disappeared without a word in seconds flat. It took us a minute to diagnose the food and decide whose it was. About 3-4 minutes passed before the next entree came out, delivered as silently and quickly as the first. This one was easily identifiable as a steak. A steak I had no knife for of course. I did my best with my butter knife for the next few minutes as we looked around for our server so we could ask for the several things that were forgotten in addition to the knife. I saw our server busy taking an order from a six top. I began to wave at the four staffers standing around the manager at the bar. Nothing.
At this point, I had the displeasure of tasting, arguably, the most bland ribeye I've ever had. It almost defied belief. Unfortunately, all I could do is watch it get colder on my plate. Eventually, I got up and asked someone to please come to my table. One server came and did her best to fix what was wrong but, by this point all our food was cold and we're in no mood to wait for new food to be prepared. Eventually, our server came back, we sent back the steak and we just finished our remaining food. After chatting with the manager at the bar, our server offered us a free dessert which we politely declined. She cleared everything off but the water and still never offered us a check. After a while, I just asked for it and paid.
We were charged for everything except the steak which was fine I guess but, what floored me was the manager. SHE NEVER MOVED. She was still sitting at the bar looking only at her laptop. I can honestly say that I made it painfully clear how unhappy we were but she never moved a muscle. Service 101 - If you have an unsatisfied client that isn't asking for anything and has declined your inadequate reconciliation attempt (free dessert), MAYBE stop by the table at least? Maybe even investigate a bit and find out if there is anything you can do differently? Amazing.
This was a failure on several levels but it was clear that this was top down incompetence. We won't be back.
Oh yeah, GORGEOUS spot, inside and out. I loved...
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming here for the last 3 years. This restaurant used to be a 10/10 for us in terms of food, drinks, prices, vibes. We would bring all of our friends here because it was one of our favorite spots. The last few times, we noticed that the food and drinks didn’t hit the spot. The service was also not as great as it used to be. We figured that the restaurant had new ownership and stopped dining here. Last week, we wanted Thai food, and because we live right down the street, we decided to try it out one more time. We were VERY disappointed. I ordered the panang curry but couldn’t sub out the beef for anything else, which is unusual. I decided to go ahead and get it even though I don’t typically eat beef and was going to share with my husband anyway. The bowl of curry that came out was the smallest bowl of curry i’ve ever seen. It was filled with a good amount of the beef, but the reason for a curry is the soupy goodness, not necessarily the meat option. I am not exaggerating when I say i finished my soup in about 10 bites. I was so disappointed because I was really craving a good curry on a cold night. My husbands noodles didn’t have any spice even though we had asked for extra spicy. I flagged down the server and told her we were pretty upset about the tiny bowl of curry and felt that for $25, this was a very small amount of food. She told us that if we wanted a bigger bowl of curry, we should order the other two curries instead. I asked her why that wasn’t relayed to us when we ordered and she didn’t have an answer. She told us she would bring another bowl of curry. The server wad also in a hurry to leave the table despite the resturant not being that crowded, and we felt like we were being cut off when we were trying to talk because she didn’t want to serve us. When the second curry came out, it was cold. Not even luke warm, just straight cold. We spent almost over a $100 for subpar food. This place is not what it used to be on any level, and it’s very disappointing that we won’t be able to dine...
Read moreA friend and I visited this restaurant after a performance. It was her birthday so I decided to treat her to dinner, though she did not know that at the time. She had mentioned this place before so we headed over about an hour or so before their closing was listed on Google maps. When we got there, we found out that the kitchen was closed in about 20 minutes. That's not much of a problem, we have a good idea of what they were serving already and an even better idea of what we were looking to eat. We were seated immediately and saw that the restaurant was still relatively full. We also saw that there was another party, a party of about three men, who were also just seated. Maybe a second before we were.
It took a minute for servers to come over to us and ask what we wanted to eat. We were a little bit concerned that we were just be sitting there with drinks and then told that the kitchen was closed, but luckily someone did come over and took our orders. At first my friend only ordered an appetizer as she was tied between two items. Once the appetizer came, which was absolutely delicious, we notice the servers weren't coming back over and we hadn't given our actual dinner orders. Thankfully someone again came over but this was maybe 2 minutes or so right before someone came over to tell us the kitchen will be closing and the last orders of the night would be taken now. We were happy we were able to get our orders in, especially since the food was absolutely delicious.
I highly recommend this location for a date night, girls night, very fancy night event. The food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere really gives you that I'm here with someone important vibe. With that said, if you cannot see in low lighting, maybe come here with a flashlight after about 6:00 p.m.. No lie. It was so dark in there, when the lights came on It was a complete Surprise...
