San Francisco Creamery — Restaurant in Walnut Creek

Let me just start with statement: I've been here in the past and it was a much different experience from my most recent visit. The service was decent but not great, the food was also Sub-Par AT BEST. I can deal with that, however my issue with my most recent visit was the total lack of empathy from the "manager/owner" Nanette-After we had lunch I had ordered some desert for my grandson and family. We all received our ice cream in a timely manner but I took one bite in and immediately regretted my decision, There was glass INSIDE my ice cream!!! I didn't even make a huge deal about this, After I took the first bite I felt something hard and crunchy inside my mouth and actually spit it out before I swallowed it. I notified our server/manager/owner, She had no sense of urgency or any basic sympathy after I showed her the chunks of GLASS inside my ice cream. But wait there's more... after receiving the check there wasn't any compensation for this horrible event, I can deal with the lack of customer service as far as comping a portion of the meal. However, I am in absolute disgust and outraged that the woman helping us didn't even APOLOGIZE about the glass in my dessert!!! How do you not have any human decency? How would you like to have glass in your ice cream and act as if it's no big deal and be so nonchalant about the whole situation!? I will NEVER come back here and I advise you to do the same, head my warning!!! Mediocre food, horrible customer service, and the worst; total lack of urgency knowing there was a health hazard in my food! Don't give this company your hard...

This place was amazing!! Man vs Food spot!! Yup Adam Rich tackled "Everything but the Kitchen Sink" a whopping 75 and some change challenge to anyone or a party of 6 to enjoy. Of course I didn't get this, but a table over filled with family, what I presume, had ordered it. There were 4 of us who stopped in this gorgeous creamery for something sweet. Little did we know they also serve lunch/dinner as well. But that's for another post. I ordered a make my own Sundae. First off I got a scoop of the apple pie ice cream, and then a scoop of decadent chocolate lovers dream ice cream. Topped with Butterscotch syrup and raspberry drizzle, with whip cream & crushed peanuts with a cherry on top!! It was the best I've ever had. I can't eat very much ice cream but every great once in a while I'll have some. This is worth it!! My boyfriend ordered a banana shake, which they give you the cold glass and you fill up as you go with the shake container left beside with your milkshake with whip cream. It took him 3 fills to tackle that shake!! My brother had the new Beignet sundae, by the way delicious take on Beignets. And his girlfriend had ordered I believe was a coffee and waffle boat sundae. Y'all will just have to take a trip there to see what I'm talking about. It's definitely worth the trip. Beautiful area and other local shops to check out in the area. We're going back to try...

COFFEE COOKIE DOUGH

After a Father's Day lunch with my husband's family we came here for dessert. The junior scoop for $3 sounded perfect - I was already so full! Don't let the word "junior" fool you! This is not a small scoop. My husband decided not to order his own after seeing it. It was actually more than we could eat and I ended up throwing some away; which totally broke my heart because it was so good!

I ordered the coffee cookie dough after asking for a sample of it. I felt bad asking for a sample because of the long line behind me, but it was my first time here. The cashier didn't seem to mind. It was a little crowded in the ordering area - not enough counter access for the patrons. Perhaps it was just so noisy and crowded because of the holiday. If it's always that packed in there (inside the restaurant and at the ice cream counter), they're killing it!
