Read moreI Have 5 Star review for this place , but I had to delete it so I can post this new review, Now the casino still a great place to visit but today I had the unpleasant experience with Security Supervisor name Oscar .
Title: Oscar Gave himself his own promotion to Manager
⭐☆☆☆☆
I’ve been a loyal patron of this casino for years, spending a significant amount of money here there every weekend. I’ve always tipped generously for drinks and games, and I’ve even taken the time to write positive reviews for the staff who’ve made my visits enjoyable. However, my experience today was nothing short of appalling, thanks to the security supervisor, Oscar.
The issue started when I brought a carry-on bag into the casino. I completely understand the need for security measures, and I was more than willing to comply. However, Oscar’s approach was beyond unprofessional. Instead of addressing the situation with basic courtesy, he immediately barked, “You’re going to take that back to your car.” His tone was rude, demanding, and unnecessarily aggressive. I was like dude I Uber here , like have some logic sense, I ideally stay for a couple hours and drink a couple of drinks . I just didn't have the opportunity to leave my work supplies , which is a pair a shoes and a dress shirt , which would had not matter if they were in a plastic bag but I understand his point of view .
When I calmly asked to speak with his manager, he flat-out refused, saying, “I’m not going to do that. If I’m telling you to leave, you’re going to leave.” I explained that it’s his job to bring his manager when a customer requests it, but he continued to disregard my request. Instead of de-escalating the situation, he decided to flex his authority by calling the on-site police officer. To her credit, the officer was polite and professional, but Oscar’s behavior was completely out of line.
It became painfully obvious that Oscar was more interested in showing off to a to a new pretty young security guard he was talking to than in resolving the situation fairly. His ego and power trip led to me being banned for 72 hours, which is an extreme and unjustified response.
What’s even more frustrating is that I’ve had similar situations in the past where managers handled things with understanding and respect. Unfortunately, Oscar seems to think he’s above his manager and above treating customers with basic decency.
This experience has left me deeply disappointed. I’ve always enjoyed coming here, but Oscar’s behavior has completely tarnished my view of this establishment. I can say until there’s accountability for his actions and an improvement in how situations like this are handled, I can’t see myself returning. But I know you guys won't , the only thing I want is for you guys to take the time to Please train your staff to handle conflicts with professionalism and respect. Customers like me who spend time and money here deserve better than to be treated like garbage by someone who abuses...
Read moreStill giving 4 stars because this review is likely due to a string of luck or something being off with adjusted machines this week - but there's been a massively noticeable change in the last few days outlined below: *Update for dollar slot players. All these slots were moved, some linked, and all opened up for some kind of maintenance this week. Not sure if they did any kind of annual 'adjusting,' but it does seem like it. These games went from so-so with progressives but very good at substantial kickbacks and non-progressive wins (making them fun, lasting, and worthwhile - both on the main and high limit floor) to fancy reverse ATMS that you're lucky to get 40 bucks out of. A previously single and now linked slot (which is not as good) is perpetually at a max 3rd tier progressive. (Don’t think a progressive static at 2,999.99 means it’s ’due’ to hit - the same pot has been sitting for weeks and I've sadly watched many people throw away cash convinced it was going to hit because the progressive stopped growing): After 3 days and a few thousand gone I never hit a single progressive or win above 60 bucks - not even the lousy 250-300 dollar lowest one that usually trips with ease everywhere else). One of AP's advantages thusfar had been better spin wins than Rivers. Now they appear worse (if that's possible). Sincerely hoping they didn't turn into 'you can only win if you bet 9 bucks' machines. Totally hoping it's just a fluke of bad luck...at every single dollar slot at the same time..... HOWEVER, on the POSITIVE side, their higher volatility slots are really good at keeping you entertained and leading to a few hundred bucks won. They’ve got popular games and from what I've observed people seem do generally do better on these than at Rivers. I mean unless they're betting 50-200 a spin like some folks do every day at Rivers. Props for that! Nice to see that you can win a few hundred off reasonable bets and have fun! IL casinos are sadly becoming too expensive for the majority of people - so I'm glad American Place is for everyone. Clean place and super friendly staff. They make every guest fell welcome and appreciated - which is leagues better than Rivers. On the plus side, American Place has way more respectable wins on random spins than Rivers **edit, now a measly 10 buck 'win' is rare. I sincerely hope they stay awesome and don’t turn to the unwritten rule of Rivers where it’s basically understood you won’t win squat if you’re playing slots under 9 bucks. I'm hoping it's just a temporary adjustment as where I normally saw familiar faces playing the machines - they're suddenly vacant seats way more than they were a week ago. In short, I live a mile or so from Rivers but still go out of my way to hit up Grand Victoria first and would like to make American Place take that spot. It's the cheeriest place with...
