The props and decor are a little on the cheesy side. My kiddos are 10&12, and they had an absolute BLAST! So much fun, they insisted we take another tour the following day. I thought the information they had was really cool and nothing you would know if you weren't already obsessed with the mysteries. It was a bit intimidating at first, but once you pass through the first two rooms, you get caught up in the experience and it's much less scary and more fun than anything. Some of the interactive buttons can be a little subtle, so pay VERY close attention! The owner is SO KIND! Our first visit being 10 minutes before their closing time (our mistake:/) he INSISTED we take the tour. We spent the better part of the next 50 minutes exploring! We came out of the tour to the owner being enthusiastically interested in every word my kids had to say. He couldn't get enough of their excitement, and they ate it up! We got caught up in the excitement and forgot to give our spider count from the pharaoh's tomb the first go, so we went back the next morning. John remembered us and was ecstatic to see the kids again and chat some more about their experience. That only got them going, so of course, we went through again. This time the kids helped read the information with me. We had an equally awesome experience and definitely recommend!! I didn't even think to check, but the weekend prices may be different than the weekday prices. I felt the prices were extremely reasonable for the tours at the time we visited. The gift shop was a little on the pricey side, but it seemed as though each item was curated by the owner himself. Other souvenirs were brought in from local vendors and small companies from around Michigan. Overall-a VERY neat place for the price and experience, maybe a little too much for kids under 5/6, it can be loud, and some rooms had unexpected lights and noises. But in the end, I think some are expecting too much. These are mythical stories and conspiracy theories. It's meant for fun, not to actually find Bigfoot :-D
