The mall has been kept up very well unlike many other malls in the United States I have visited. The bathrooms are usually clean and in working order. The mall doesn’t smell like mold, mildew, or staleness. The decor isn't outdated, and the signs announcing new stores are nice and welcoming.

While I am sorry some of our stores have left the mall, I am grateful our city has continued to draw other stores to it. It will be nice when Dillard's finally opens its doors. Many of the stores that left, like Gordman's, and are leaving, like Bed, Bath, and Beyond, were what I consider expensive and had items I rarely needed. My experience with Dillard's was the same, but since that was 33 years ago, I am eager to give them a shop. Pun intended. I rarely shop Macy's for that reason, but I have been discovering good sales at JC Penney's, which is what brought me to the mall for this adventure.

It is my opinion a mid-range or lower-price store like a Big Lots as a anchor might draw people to the mall, as I have seen it happen in the past. Another idea might be to ask Belk's to come or solicit another Cato.

There are many clothing stores. It appears teenagers' needs for clothing is well represented at this time, and there are at least two stores that serve large-sized women. There are other varied undergarment and clothing stores for people to peruse.

There's a boutique, Jaber Soul's, that looked lovely with a myriad of things to look at. I didn't realize how deep these stores are! I looked through the window to the back past the pickup truck, and I saw things I would like. I didn't go in because there was so much to see, and I was ready to leave. Next time, I promise.

The food court is varied, and it's nice we have at least one Midwestern offering, Culver's. More food choices are coming, and, if you don't want a meal, there's Auntie Anne's Pretzels, popcorn vendors, and a candy store. Yes, a store that sells candy!

I saw something really sweet, no pun intended, in the food court. It's a panel with a poem or a comment about kindness, dedicated to two families, and mentions including hashtag comments in pictures. I believe I need another trip to the mall to see that again. Won't you come...

My wife and I were at the mall eating some lunch in the food court. Afterwards, we decided to go down to what use to be the DQ stand next to that children’s play area (now it is a gilato place next to a Nestle Tollhouse stand). We decided to get some ice cream before we went around to do some shopping. Unfortunately there were a lot of places that closed down (possibly due to the covid epidemic but I’m not 100% sure). Let me add a note that both my wife and I wear face masks when in public. We also do our best to socially distance ourselves. Trying to stay 6 feet away from someone at the food court was difficult but we worked with it. As we got our ice cream and walked away, we made sure to distance ourselves from everyone else, giving us the ability to pull our masks down to enjoy our ice cream. And as soon as we did this, a mall security officer came straight to us on a Segway saying we have to keep our face masks up or else. I asked him for advise on where we should go to eat our ice cream. He advised we head back to the food court (the one place in the mall with the highest number of people walking around without a face mask was). When I told him this, he then waved his hand around and said to pick any bench in the middle of the hallway and sit down. I explained to him how flawed his logic was and that due to his rude behavior towards us, we were going to stop our shopping and leave. As we were leaving, I made a personal note to count all the people I saw without a face mask on entirely. That rent-a-cop needs to pick his battles better.
