Performance Auto Sound — Attraction in Wenatchee

Having purchased a half dozen after market car stereos (and installing a couple myself!), I’ve dealt with a lot of car audio stores. Performance Auto Sound in Wenatchee is at the top. The shop was clean, but Wally informed me that their service schedule was packed. After patiently helping me chose the best stereo for me, my need for an install before I began my 1 hour commuting drive was a snag.

Wally, who is the manager and my sales associate, did not miss a beat. He discussed my abilities and experience and then found a solution. His team wired the harness and gave me the hardware to easily install the unit myself. He took the extra time to make sure every detail (and there are some!) was covered to make the install as quick and easy as possible. And he loosened the old deck from my dash console, and he left a note with those important details with my stereo unit and parts pickup. Wow. Now that’s service.

The deck sounds great as Wally tipped me off to the settings on the deck that really improve sound for my SUV. The install was easy because I was so prepped by PAS. Wally at Performance Auto Sound in Wenatchee is simply fantastic. I went in there a few times this week and he was super friendly and helpful every time, even though the first couple times I had gone in there I hadn't planned on buying anything. Regardless of me expressing interest in making a purchase, Wally was eager to help me solve my problem all while knowing I wasn't buying anything at the time and even gave me great advice. Eventually, I did need to purchase a head unit and when I did I couldn't think to go anywhere else after dealing with Wally. I was shocked at how thorough he was at explaining certain settings of the head unit and he even gave me advice on how to resolve a problem that he has gotten feedback about from others. Also, while in there I heard him assisting another customer in the purchase of subwoofers and offered to have them stop back by once they had been installed to make sure they were adjusted to the best settings. Went in because of a word of mouth recommendation Performance was the best around. Just wanted a simple installation of a car stereo, usb, blue tooth, AM/FM, etc. to replace the factory model in my 2006 work style pick up truck. So I am looking at cost of approximately $120+ for the stereo unit and not interested in speakers. Got a quote of $500 including stereo plus a run around rate description of addtional items that needed to be added by Performance. The hard copy quote was very nimbulus relative to part costs and labor. Went to two other vendors and quoted approximately $250.00 for the same job. Got straight up descriptions and costs from these vendors. My bottom line impression of Performance and their quote was that of "Buyer Be Aware" of attempts to cheat you out of your money as...
