My son and I went here because I had gone to the other Huckleberry restaurant and was very impressed. This place needs to do better, especially with their customers. We arrived at 08:45 am and waited to be seated. There was 6 other tables in progress before we had shown up. While my son and I were waiting, the waitress told us it would be a little bit as they were busy. We were ok with that. 3 more people came in and waited behind us. 2 more people came in behind them. At 9:00, we were all finally seated. The hostess gave me and my son the menu's and water. She asked us if we wanted anything else to drink, we said no. We looked over the menu and decided what we were going to eat. The waitress came over and asked us if we needed more time, we told her we knew what we wanted. She took our order, the 3 people that had been behind us in line, and the other 2 people that had been behind them. We sat and visited while we were waiting on our food. By 9:20, the 3 people that had been behind us were served their food, by 9:25, the 2 people who had been behind the 3 people behind us got their food. My son told me we should just leave as we still hadn't been served our food. He was also pretty upset that the waitress would go over to two other tables and visit with them for several minutes and not bother with the other customers. While we were waiting on our food, 3 older people came in and waited to be seated. 2 more people came in behind them and were also waiting to be seated. Shortly after that, a single customer came in a d was waiting in line. The waitress told the first group 3 different times that they were busy and she would get to them soon. The group of 3 finally left after 15 minutes of waiting. The couple that was waiting behine the group of 3 left shortly after they did. The single customer got seated shortly after that. My son and I finally got our meals shortly after that. I asked the waitress for 2 to go containers. She told me that we would have to wait because they were busy. When she finally brought the containers, she didn't leave the check for the amount owed. My son and I sat there for probably 2 minutes, then we got up to go. I headed towards the cash register to pay for my bill and had to wait to pay. My son got irritated at how long we were waiting since the waitress was back at the 2 tables she had been visiting with since before we had even got seated. I finally was able to pay for the food. This was the worst customer service I've had in a long time. My family had gone to the Huckleberry at Pybus and had the exact opposite. There the service was outstanding. Here is not the case. I would totally not recommend eating here unless you like to wait an extremely long time on not only getting seated, but on getting...
Read moreThe Huckleberry chain of local but expensive restaurants are a fame in the valley. One of the more popular places to eat with generally great quality food and yummy choices, but high prices.
The Huckleberry North just opened after the failed Dusty’s Burger joint didn’t make it under Huckleberry’s ownership, and I heard they had fresh baked goods and so, as a retired French trained pastry chef, I had to give it a try.
I was sadly disappointed. I purchased a $5.99 croissant and a $3.99 lemon bar. I will talk about the pricing first. A lemon bar at $3.99 is a good price, if it’s good of course. Although a croissant should be no more than $4.99, unless it’s huge and the most excellent croissant you’ll ever enjoy.
Well, again, I was quite disappointed. The lemon bar was thin and flat and not attractive. Subpar to say the least. As for the croissant, it was like eating a slice of store bought white bread, flattened by hand, heavy in texture and flavorless, way too moist. It would disappoint any French pastry chef. The layers were quite thick and the entire eat was doughy. I give exception to the fact it is hard to find well trained pastry chefs or bakers in Wenatchee and sheeting dough requires a high level of skill this place clearly does not employ.
Don’t let this review stop you from eating at the huck chain of restaurants though. If your pocket book allows, I’ll recommend the Huck @ Pybus for breakfast, but my breakfast at the Huck owned “Big Y Cafe” in Peshastin was not worth the $50...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful service! My family and I saw good reviews for this place on the Find Me GF app. I have celiacs disease and am highly sensitive to cross contamination which makes it very difficult to find places that are safe for me to eat, but that was not an issue here at Huckleberry North. My family and I were on vacation and every morning for breakfast we came here because I felt safe eating here. The service and the servers are absolutely wonderful! August 3,2024 Saturday, our server was Nichole S. She was wonderful. Her service and knowledge of celiac was good. I was still a bit hesitant trying this new place through. I got the Pig&Vine sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! The following day our server was Tomi V. Everything from Tomi’s service to the knowledge she had about celiac to the fast responses to anything that we may have needed confirmed that I would definitely be safe eating here. Tomi ensured that my food allergies on top of the celiac will be taken care of and the food will be safe to eat. The last morning we ate at Huckleberry North our server was wonderful as well. I didn’t get to catch her name. Overall, my family loved their food and I absolutely loved mine as well! I did not get sick or glutened and would love to come back to visit this place when I would be back in the state. Absolutely amazing place! Highly...
