I have been buying from this candy shop for many years. I would buy not only for my personal friends but my clients as well. I have several client birthday's a month so I have spent a lot of money on a regular and consistent basis. I have noticed in the last year or so the staff has become quite unfriendly and some downright rude. They act like you are bothering them spending your money there and keeping them in business! Now they have a new rule they said you can only buy two different chocolate items when you purchase from the counter to make a box-really! This is a candy shop where you could pick what you want. If they don't want to sell from the counter they should just box everything up and sell it that way. I have clients with special needs. They either have issues with chewing, allergies, or special diets. They like certain things and for many, this is one of the few things they get all year to enjoy. So I need to get them what they want and can eat. Why should I but a pre-made box when they probably could not eat half of it. The staff was very snotty today. She said they don't have time to do more than two items? I asked to speak to the owner as again I have been spending regular money there for years. The snotty staff said, "Oh my mom, yes she is here". So in addition to the other rude staff now she has her rude daughter working there. Unbelievable! They have lost my business forever. I will find a place that has some customer service to purchase for my clients. I have already spoken to some close friends who say they have also experienced this and are not going there anymore either. They probably don't care as they certainly don't seem to want the business anyway. For the prices they should have the common sense to treat their customers decently if they wanted to keep them. Try a hello and smile when a person walks in instead of a scowl on their faces. They don't deserve...
Read moreThere's many other candy shops in the Milwaukee area so I decided to stop spending so much money at Freese's candy shop. Every Christmas they won't allow anyone to pick out their own assorted chocolates. My mother is allergic to nuts and my wife simply don't like them with chocolate. Their prepackaged gift boxes do not suffice as personalized gifts for family and friends. When I told the young lady my sentiments she refused to service me and asked another clerk to do so. I was offended that I was refused service simply because I voiced what I did and did not like as far as service and candies. The next clerk insisted they were so busy that they simply didn't have enough time to serve each customer as to what they wanted. That just was not true because there were no other customers in the store at all besides me. Owners / managers need to instruct their employees on how to satisfy their loyal customers. Freese's holiday policies only serve the store and not the...
Read moreI ordered for mothers day for mom as this has long been favorite of hers and I called in order to have shipped to her in Michigan. I ordered on Friday morning and was told that they may not get in mail today which I mistakenly took to mean they would do the very next day but- nope.... mothers day came and went and it was now Tuesday after mothers day and I decided to call and check to make sure it shipped and to correct address. It was then I was told that it went out Monday- the day prior. So much for Mothers Day; I knew she probably wouldn't get on time but to do what they do and miss a perfectly good mailing opportunity knowing people are attempting to deliver in appreciation of holidays. Poor service with a matter of fact attitude and I won't...
