Visited the Homestead, PA location today with my family to celebrate Easter a day early. We arrived in the door at 11:05 AM. I understand they open at 11:00 AM, but 2 servers and the hostess walked in after our group of 5 adults with 1 baby. Several minutes after being seated with menus a staff member came and took our menus and replaced them with lunch menus and it was explained last night’s staff didn’t switch out the menus. Combined we ordered 3 Outlaw Ribeyes with added sides, 1 ribeye with an added side, a chopped steak and the lamb chops that are a limited offering. We waited nearly an hour for the food to come, and when it did 1 outlaw ribeye and the lamb chops were absolutely charred. We were advised the manager was personally refiring a new ribeye but the petrified lamb chops remained at the table with no offer to refire.
Due to the food taking so long and the baby being restless, I walked around the empty spaces with the baby and noted all serving screens were dirty and overall cleanliness was not up to par.
As the rest of us cut in, another one of outlaw ribeyes had so much fat that hadn’t been properly rendered it was inedible. I exited the now crowded dining area and asked to speak with the manager and explained I didn’t want to cause a scene with complaints as were seating in the center of all the other patrons. When the manager approached me, she was less than apologetic but did tell me she had been to the table since I had stepped away and would take the lamb chops off of the bill and discount the check $10 to compensate for the ribeye that was burnt initially. When I returned to the table, the outlaw ribeye that had been retired (which was ordered to be well done) was medium at best and I finally cut into my regular ribeye that also was so fatty I couldn’t chew most of it. At this point in the service the waitress didn’t come back until we flagged her down for checks and an hour and a half dining experience was more than enough for us. For 2 out of 6 meals, our combined bills were over $200 before we tipped our server a combined $40 dollars as I am in the service industry and didn’t want the waitress to be penalized for poor cooking and a manager that was less than amendable.
I have visited many Longhorn Steakhouses and have never had an experience like this. 100% will not return to this location and 95% chance that it will be some time before any of us are patrons at any others after bringing home more beef for the family dog...
Read moreSo we called previously to set up a table for 20, on the phone they informed us that we couldn’t sit together, ok fine as long as we’re close. So when we arrived at 3:30 the server that was working the host stand told us that we have to all be there to be sat, and that our servers don’t come until 5, being a server myself it was rude for her to say that because 1st, this place takes walks it’s not based off reservations, 2 the way she said it was rude, it was like the servers that was there did not want to take us, so after our whole party arrived we were sat about 4:30 I don’t understand why it taken so long to set up a table they only setup 16 seats we called for 20 and reminded them upon arrival it was 20. Well there was a couple that was sat right after us no wait time tell the server that they hope we called and they want their food before us the server did greet us but told us she’ll be back to get our drink orders we waited about 10 minutes for her return but during this the the 2 too had drink we finally got our drink order and apps it taken her 10-15 mins to come back with drinks our apps arrived and they were cold our table was 8 ppl that’s not too much for her too handle I did not understand why we was going through this she promised refills none was ever brought when our food came out my food was burnt others was cold and burnt but we waited so long but that was enough so I told the server and the manager walked over I told her my apps was cold which I did not eat and my food was burnt and no refills but I would like my food remade and to go we was there for 4 hours so I didn’t have the time nor energy to check my food we all just came from a funeral when I got home and ate my food it was burnt the extra cheese park topping I paid for was a whole bunch of crumbs I paid my whole bill did not ask for a discount this was a bad location I go to the mccandless location a lot it’s always good never had to complain if I was anyone never go to this location they need new staff the manager was nice about it but he did not fix this at all my server was Hailey M and I still did tip her 20% even though service...
Read moreThe waitress staff was very courteous, friendly and attentive and made for a better experience. Rib eye was alittle salty. What detracted from our experience though, was something else. I've spent approx. 30 years in public safety and emergency medicine. My companion has spent the same amount of time in building and safety management for the elderly. On her way to the restroom she noticed one of the emergency exit(s) was blocked by high chairs and chairs. This is an obvious major healthcode/ building code violation that can cause serious problems in an emergency. When she saw the manager she called him over to our table. She politely explained the situation and told him she was not reporting the violation to anyone nor was she an inspector but asked of he could please clear the emergency exit for the customers safety. I attempted to explain that these emergency situations although not common but could get out of hand quickly and can cause injury or death. However I was cut off and politely told he would check out the matter right away and proceeded to head in that direction. Approx 10 minutes later he returned to say he had cleared the exit. My companion thanked him for his effort and again said she felt bad about bringing it to his attention. He condasendingly told her he only did it for her. She reminded him that he did it for his company, boss and his liability. He replied more Terrell " No mam I did it only for you!" We immediately left as we had paid our bill and I did not want this to escalate. This was uncalled for by management. I have been a part of many multiple casualty events were safety violations led to worse injuries and death. As we mentioned we were trying to help him out. This left a bad taste in our mouths for this...
