Worst Hibachi ever! Well the few "COLD" bites that I ate that is. When I arrived, while I was waiting i ordered a beer. After I received my beer, our table was ready. We are then seated. The lady is nice, she asks my wife what she wants and when she got to me I showed her I already had a beer. She then brought out another beer that I didn't order and my wife and children's drinks. At this time my newborn is sleeping. She asks us for our order and we order 2 sushi rolls a piece and hibachi for both and told her we would split it with our other 3 girls. She didn't ask us if we wanted rice or noodles. We sit there for 20 minutes or so and then we grab someone and let them know we want noodles. The chef comes up as they are giving me 1 of my sushi rolls. They then ask if we were waiting on anything else. We proceed to tell them that we've been waiting for 4 sushi rolls. The chef puts on a great show but the lobster was overcooked, and everything had that salty burnt flavor. To put it lightly it was terrible. My girls wouldn't even eat it and the few bites that I had made my stomach hurt instantly. After he's finished they bring out our sushi. So by the time we ate some of our sushi all of the Hibachi was cold. Not our fault. I get my bill because we are ready to leave and didn't really eat anything and It's $140. I ask to speak to the manager and finally after about a 10 minute wait a manager comes out. I explain the situation and he asks what he can do. I then suggested for him to make it right. He then tells me he will and walks off. So I sit at our table waiting for something to happen and our server comes over and asks what is going on. I explain that he said he would make it right and walked away. She then goes and gets him and he says again that he would make it right. So I wait longer and our server comes back and asks what's going on. I explained why I was upset and that I shouldn't have to pay for the cold food that neither my wife, children, or I didn't eat and that if he's not going to make it right then I'll make sure people know about my experience. She then goes in the back and comes out and says he said he would give me 20% off of my bill and brings me out a bill with 15 off. I'm no math Wizz but I know 15 isn't 20% of 100 let alone 140. At this time my kids are ready to leave and fussy so I said I didn't care and that I am definitely letting people know about the experience. She then says I'll take the 20.00 gratuity off also. And then brings me back a bill for 124. Which still isn't 20% off of the bill. So I paid it and walked out. Needless to say if you want quality Japanese steakhouse food and sushi don't go there. Because even if they mess up your meal, you not only have to pay for it but the manager won't make it right. They don't care about their customers and it shows. The food is terribly overpriced, you have to ask for anything that you would normally get at any other restaurant, and the...
Read moreMy kids have dubbed this place “No-Go-So.” it had been several years since we have eaten at this restaurant just due to their hours. We happened to be in the area right when they opened and… it was awful. From the moment we opened the first of the double doors we were greeted by smell of rotten fish. We were concerned, but we thought maybe they had a delivery mishap or something that had spilled on the carpet? When we went inside, we could still smell the rotten fish odor mixed with the smell of soy sauce. We almost left then, but we were greeted and seated rather quickly in the area by the sushi. From there, things got worse, we waited at the table for at least five minutes before the host brought over a group who had just walked to be seated in the area. The waiter, then proceeded to almost make a show of not coming over to our table. It was so weird. It was like he was making a show of ignoring us; doing things like leaning on the back/side of our chair with his back turned to us the entire time like we didn’t exist, turning his body the long way around to avoid facing us… I know this must sound strange, but honestly, we would have just thought that the waiter picked the table to start with a bit out of order (which is not a big deal. Happens all the time when the waiter doesn’t see who was seated when how could they know?) If this waiter wasn’t making such a show of it, we would have thought nothing of it. It was so odd, he did this all while being very frat boy style boisterous with the other table. (I don’t think he knew them though.) During this time, the host brought over another table to be seated. The waiter eventually took the chosen table’s drink order and attempted to leave quickly… but the just seated, third table of young women called him over. He said something offhandedly flirty to them in response, but continued on his way. It was super awkward. The women definitely didn’t appear to take that well. We thought when he came back he would at least take our drink order but it took him 10 minutes to bring the first chosen table’s drinks back and started talking food with them. At this point, we were watching the clock because we had somewhere to be. He finished with the table seated next to us, turned dramatically away from our table, and went over to the table of women. He took their drink order and left. At that point we were 20-25 minutes in. We decided that the smell, the lack of service, combined with the disgusting state of their bathroom (which two of our group used when we first got there) were more than enough to leave. We didn’t put a show on about leaving or anything. We just got up and...
Read moreLet me say that the food was pretty good. That's the only reason I didn't give it less stars.
The service, however, was terrible. Firstly, it took over 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge my son and me. Finally a server came over and asked if anybody had waited on us yet. Of course I said no. The server (Chyna)was a little cold and abrupt, but that would have been OK if her service would have been efficient. After our orders were taken, our appetizers and drinks were brought out, which was fine, but then she brought out my son's entree, but not mine. About 10 minutes later, I was looking for her, to ask what was going on, I guess she saw me, because she came over and said that my order should be ready soon. It was another 5-10 minutes before I got my entree. My son was trying not to be rude, but I told him to go ahead and start eating, and he was halfway finished, by the time my entree came out. After dinner, my son and I discussed getting dessert, and he asked the server if they did anything for birthdays. We did see on the menu that they did something for a person's birthday with a dinner special, dessert, sparklers and a song. The menu said they didn't do that on Saturdays, but when we were sitting waiting to see a server, another table had gotten sparklers and a birthday song with drums from some of the members of the staff. We weren't looking for a free dessert, but my son was hoping a little something could be done, since they obviously had the supplies for it. When we asked our server, all she said was "We don't do anything for birthdays." Then she told us what the desserts were. My son and looked at each other quizzically, since there was info on the menu, AND we had seen someone else have a little celebration. When Chyna left, I said I wasn't surprised she would say that, because she already seemed unwilling to make any extra effort. When we found out they didn't have coffee, we decided to go somewhere else for dessert. As we were leaving, another table had a dessert brought out, with sparklers and drums, with the staff singing a birthday song. That was just icing on the cake (no pun intended.) I've never given a tip less than 20% before, and usually I give a bigger tip, but I was so upset by the end of the dinner, and my son was too. This was the first time, especially during the holidays, that my tip was less than generous. Not the best birthday dinner. Maybe they only care about the hibachi...
