i went here for the first time yesterday with my son . we wanted sushi and ramen and found this place. as soon as we walked in it smelled like humid nasty mop water. wich should've been enough of a sign that this place wasn't clean , but i went in . it looked cute and all but smelled nasty . we ordered a kids meal, a ramen, and sushi. the waiter never brought us soy sauce after the sushi . we had to wait a long time before he ever walked back . the cups smelled like they were cleaned with a dirty rag. the ramen tasted like how the place smelled, like nasty stagnant water, and even nastier taste . The meat in it tasted like freezer burn and has a texture like rubber., I described to the server when he came with out check I didn't eat it because it literally tasted like soap. and he said " but did u see soap in it? " I'm like no, but it tastes like when ur in the shower and accidentally get shampoo in ur mouth and he rolled his eyes. the only good thing was the sushi. I feel like the ramen was trash . my sons food was gross too. first of all , it was all cold, like straight out the fridge cold. the rice was nasty and some parts not even cooked all the way, the rest was slimey. the tempura shrimp tasted like leftovers that were in the fridge for a week. nasty. the only thing he ate was the teriyaki chicken, wich was cold but at least had sauce and tasted like something. the rest we left . he didn't offer to remove the ramen of the check, that I didn't even eat and only tasted , 98%of it was still in the bowl, or offer to reheat my sons food . the server was rude and snobby and didn't care at all. I didn't make a big scene and demand a refund or anything. I told him all the issues and he didn't really care at all. honestly never going back. but if u love ramen that tastes like they got dirty mop water and washed their feet in it go ahead Disgusting . Moral of the story, don't trust a place that smells like dirty mop. As cute as it looks from a distance, that smell will describe everything else. Unpleasant , rude waiter, and nasty. also my son and I went to the restroom, through some little curtains in the back. we pass by their kiosk where they put in orders and passed by peoples food waiting to be taken out. Literally right next to u. We could've touched it or accidentally spilled it, and it was right by the bathroom door on a little table, uncovered. I could've sneezed on it, grabbed it, and the server would still take it out. it is so unsanitary! Right by the bathroom...

On 9/3/23Order#:48, The server Kim did not show respect for dietary restrictions for a vegetarian with severe seafood allergy. She rushed thru the order. Then served app with shrimp flakes, then corrected it. But every dish after that was wrong. She started to have a headache so they left. Walking back to the car she started getting itchy throat. Then she started feeling like she couldn't breath, dizzy and nauseous. So we sat down for a little until I felt better. Our friend agreed that she smelled seafood or shellfish because her sister has an shrimp allergy. When we got back I had a vomiting and upset stomach, and throbbing headache . The server told us when she brought the check, that she was sorry that they got the order wrong, they we're really busy. they had 17 people walk in without a reservation. We get it but that's not an excuse for poor service and neglect other customers. I called the restaurant and asked them for a refund after explaining what happened. The manager was impolite and hung up. He wouldn't even check the order to find out if the server had put "Seafood Allergy" in the system. The fact they think its okay to play with peoples life, is unacceptable. They are a public duty to provide nutritious food prepare in clean and sanitary conditions. I write this post as a man who is scared out of his mind to lose his partner over something so simple. No one knows what this weekend was like for us, I'm just Happy she's okay now, after this close call. It shouldn't be this difficult in 2023, allergies are not new. I hope that someone else doesn't go there an get sick or worse die because of someone's...

First of all, our server—whose name I tragically forgot, but whose sweetness could singlehandedly reverse climate change—was an absolute delight. She materialized out of nowhere like a sushi-summoning ninja every time we needed anything, with the reflexes of a caffeinated hummingbird and the grace of a Studio Ghibli side character.
Now, the food. My friends. THE FOOD. I swear the chef prepared our sushi so fresh I half-expected the salmon nigiri to leap off the plate and backstroke across the table. Every bite tasted like it had a direct line to the ocean. The speed? I don’t know what kind of warp-drive sushi chef they’re running back there, but our food arrived so fast I briefly suspected time travel. I blinked and suddenly we were in the middle of a sashimi love story.
We came during a quiet time and had the place to ourselves, which transformed the whole evening into a private, candlelit fever dream of raw fish and romantic vibes. It was so magical, I genuinely considered proposing a relationship status upgrade right then and there. Like, “Hey, want to be my girlfriend and also maybe elope with me and a spicy tuna roll?”
TL;DR: Tokai isn’t just a sushi restaurant. It’s an experience. It’s a feeling. It’s the edible version of falling in love under a sakura tree during cherry blossom season while a string quartet plays “Kiss from a Rose.”
Go. Now. Tell them the...
