I love torrid!! But this latest experience has be furious. Recently I ordered a pair of work pants online because I misplaced mine.. When I ordered my pants online they were 40% off, and I selected the option to pick them up at the store. Upon ordering I got two email, one with my order receipt, and then another with a order status. The order status said âprocessingâ. Since the website had a banner that said orders were taking longer to process than usual, I wasnât too worried about it being there super quick. However, a few days went by and I never received another order update. I checked my email every day for about a week and a half, but still nothing. Finally, yesterday I opened an email from Torrid that said I had picked up my order???? Obviously I had not because I never got a status update about them being ready to pick up. So, today I went to torrid to see if this was a mistake, and I explained the situation to them, and they said they made it an âabandoned orderâ. They said that they had my pants for a few days, but since I didnât pick them up they cancelled my order. Mind you that I NEVER got an email saying they were ready. So then when I asked if I could still get my pants, they said yes since they still had them in the store, however, now I would have to pay the full $70ish for the pants. I do not think that it is fair in the slightest that I would have to pay full price for pants I bought at $40 because of THEIR mistake. I am very very displeased with this service. I had already sent emails to corporate, and got nothing in return. I did not end up buying the pants at full price, and I still do not have a refund or anything.    Read moreThe store was empty except two employees (one manager or trainer and one training from the looks of it). I went in to make a return from an online order and was told we by the manager that I could browse while she got my order pulled up. I looked around but quickly went back to the register. She asked if I found anything I wanted for an exchange and I told her that your store doesnât carry my size in anything and laughed. The other woman (in training I assume) said that theyâre normally out of her size too. I clarified and said that it wasnât a matter of running out but that they donât stock their full size range in store.
She said that I should âconsider it motivationâ. I asked her âfor what? To exist?â She said no and laughed and talked about her dropping weight to have access to more options. I told her that I get treated as a second class citizen because of my weight everywhere else and that I didnât need it here. The trainer looked mortified but didnât comment. She processed my return and I left.
I will NEVER a shop inside this Torrid store again and actively discourage friends and family from coming to this location too. It is shameful that a plus size womenâs clothing store 1. doesnât carry their full size range in store 2. doesnât do more to coach their associates about their mission, inclusion, and being beautiful at every size.
Iâve felt shame and frustration shopping at other places loads of times but I never thought, in a million years, that I wouldâve had that interaction at a place like...
