Fleur Bake Shop — Restaurant in Whitefish

So disappointed with my experience with Fleur Bake Shop. I called the shop to order a basic elopement cake (one tier with no decoration-just iced). I spoke with someone by phone and explained what I was looking for. I was told it should NOT be a problem to just fill out the elopement questionnaire. Two weeks go by with no response (which is stated on site). Finally, I received an email stating they could NOT fill the order. I replied to email and expressed my dismay after being told by THEIR staff it would NOT be a problem. I also stated I would be leaving feedback so others do not have the same experience on such an important day. The owner then called and left a voice mail that stating there was a miscommunication and "they did everything correct on their end". WHAT?! How are things correct on their end when I was told it would not be a problem just submit an email! So now we are left without a cake. I would not recommend this bakery for...

"The cake is a lie." Do not buy a cake here. It will end up in your garbage. My wife just bought a vanilla cake with raspberry filling and it is the worst cake I've ever had. The frosting was literally just butter, I don't think it had any sugar. The cake and filling were way over cooked, dry, and flavorless. My 8 year old nephew wanted cake all night, and couldn't even swallow his first bite. This is one of the only bakeries in the flathead valley, and we are quite disappointed. Trust me, a box cake and premade pillsbury frosting will be much better! I've never thrown an entire cake in the garbage until now. This is a seemingly popular spot with an interesting assortment of sweet and savory baked goods. I visited late in the day and first thing in the morning, and loved that they seemed fully stocked at both times. The broccoli and cheddar frittata was excellent and herby -- I'd eat it any day. Raspberry macaron had the textures of an expert French baker and the ginger molasses cookie was not shy about the ginger, with a subtle saltiness and subtle burn. I'd rate both 8/10. They have all the coffee shop essentials on their drink menu, and my plain latte was perfection. Their espresso quality beats most coffee shops. I'd be more than happy to come back and try anything...
