So let me start this post by stating that I love Their products. I will return based on the product alone. I have been going to wildwood since I was 5. 35 years I have been eating and going to Douglass Fudge on the boardwalk. This year celebrating their 100th anniversary, and to put it bluntly their customer service is horrible and the in store process is totally dysfunctional. I walked in to a full house as always. I see a line at the chocolate counter and register so I go to the end and wait my turn. No numbers for customers. Employees not paying attention to who’s next or at least asking who’s next. People walking in loudly yelling and getting served before elderly people waiting patiently in line. I waited a half hour just to get waited on. I still had to wave someone down to help me. There were 8 employees on the fudge side of the store, and just two people helping the chocolate counter. Then they would just walk away and go somewhere else. It was just mass chaos. If I wasn’t there with my kids who all wanted something I really would have left. I just cannot fathom after 100 years that they do not have a more efficient way to serve customers. It’s was just crazy. It’s not hard to pick a number and serve customers accordingly. Just like a deli. It’s not the floor of the stock exchange, yet that’s what it felt like to me. I witnessed many people annoyed, and some put their merchandise back and walked out. I just cannot remember a time that it has been that disorganized and difficult to buy fudge or chocolate. Hopefully next year things...
Read moreWhen it came time to decide on wedding favors, there was no question in our minds—Douglass Fudge was the perfect choice! This Jersey shore favorite holds a special place in our hearts. I introduced my husband to it during our first trip to the shore together, and it quickly became a family favorite for both of us. So, when we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to share that sweet tradition with our guests.
The staff at Douglass Fudge was so easy to work with. They helped us create custom goodie bags with a selection of their delicious treats, which felt like the perfect way to share a little piece of the Jersey shore with everyone. The process was seamless—they even coordinated directly with our venue in Cape May to have the goodie bags delivered, making everything super easy for us.
Our guests absolutely loved the favors, and it was a great way to share a meaningful part of our story with them. We couldn’t have been happier with the experience and highly recommend Douglass Fudge for anyone looking to add a sweet touch to their...
Read moreThe fudge is good and I have been a regular here for years. However the service was extremely rude this visit. Douglas has a bunch of different unique flavors such as pumpkin pie that I want to try before I buy a pound of that flavor. When I asked to sample 2 flavors the girl at the counter said it's usually one sample per person. I was so mad and offended I probably bought half the amount of fudge I usually buy there. Plenty of other times when I went there before because they let me try flavors I found ones I liked, and I would buy a lot more. (Update) Hello Jason thank you for your quick response. Was in last week on 9/23 and purchased fudge. Fudge was outstanding as always. Costumer service was exceptional this time. The person behind the counter was more than happy to let me sample as much fudge as I wanted and this helped me decide to buy fudge flavors I would have not purchased otherwise. Look forward to being a repeat costumer for...
