One bedroom (one king bed in the bedroom, one queen bed in the main room, 1 bathroom). |Travelled as a family of 4, two parents, two little boys 10 & under. The room is clean and the pool was large. Good location near the center of it all (moreys piers). ||They are all tile rooms which a lot of people like BUT remember no matter how well you brush off and wash off sand you WILL be tracking sand into the hotel room each time. With no area rugs to brush off your feet one more time it’s a constant battle to get your feet clean and dry before getting under the covers. If I had realized I would have brought two leftover thin area rugs from home that I no longer use. They are grippy and can be thrown in the washer. I would also recommend a swiffer if you are driving in and have space to pack one. ||The bathroom is small. Acceptable. All we needed was a toilet, tub, and sink but if you are plus sized I think it could be a little challenging. The bath towels are small (a little larger than a hand towel), micro thin and really scratchy. They give you plenty of them though but it may be worth packing your own bath towel or robe to save your sanity.||Maid service was everyday but I don’t believe they sweep and mop the floors every day. They take your bars of soap with each cleaning so if you don’t like waste I’d recommend putting the used bars of soap from the sink and the shower into your toiletry bag before you head out each morning. ||Music. This motel is directly across from the old city pub bar and they have music almost every night of the week. We enjoyed it but if you are an early bird and don’t like late night music, please reconsider. ||There is only 1 washer and dryer. Wash is $2 in quarters and the dryer is $2 in quarters. We picked our beach week of vacation 6 months in advance and it happened to rain almost every day unfortunately. (Pro tip: visit the water park if it rains during a weekday as there will be lower crowds and the water feels warmer.) So between being drenched from the weather and spending a day at the water park our towels were soaked. It was tricky waiting for a time to get into the motel’s only dryer. My husband ended up waking up early at 7 am one morning and throwing everything in to dry it so we could go to the beach one last time. If rain is predicted on your week long vacation consider bringing 3-4 towels per person. We only brought 8 beach towels for our family of 4 for the week.||The wifi is hit or miss. But its free.||This was our 2nd attempt to stay here and our first actual stay. Two years ago we were booked but my husband and son both got covid right before the trip. The motel would not refund our money even though covid restrictions were still being enforced. Read the fine print on your reservation - they charge you an additional fee to pay by...
Read moreTraveled with family for a nice long extended weekend. This was our first time staying at this motel, I heard/read a lot of mixed reviews, so here is my review- good & bad.|| PRO's- |Every morning staff is out their cleaning the pool and the (3) gas grills completely out. Housekeeping was wonderful always a friendly hello asking if we needed anything, if we needed our room made up, trash taken out. Clearly they are working on updating the motel with new bedding/painting etc. Had a issue with no hot water called down to front desk and someone was up in 5 minutes to address problem (not really sure what the problem was, as I left the water run for at least 5 minutes, guess I needed to leave it run longer..lol) even so not a big issue. |Great central location to everything.|We rented a kitchen unit, signs in room stating if dirty dishes were left a $25 fee would be added. Pulled 2 plates out of cabinet only to find the one under the top had dried food on it- GROSS !! Again not a big issue as I always would wash everything before using.||CON's - |Beds really were not comfortable at all. Sofa bed was very very uncomfortable , I would not even count that as a place to sleep.|Towels - bring your own, the ones in motel are VERY paper thin and look like they everyone in town has used them.|Shower- water would go from cold to hot during a normal (5 min) shower, always having to adjust your temperature while showering. Bathroom is very small and toilet paper again if you want anything soft - bring your own.|Biggest CON for me was the AC unit !!! Only one unit in the room in which it is in the back bedroom area, you could not shut the door for privacy in the bedroom because the front room would get to hot. AND LOUD...OMG the AC unit was so loud all night long ..for someone that gets very hot at night this was the deal breaker for me, all the other CONs were manageable .||I would consider staying here again but would insist on a room on the first floor and make sure the window AC wasn't as loud and I would have to bring...
Read moreWe booked a handicapped room with a roll in shower. My husband is very immobile. Unfortunately, the handicapped room was literally the furthest room from the handicapped ramp near the office. Plus it was on the 2nd floor. So we needed to take an elevator with a large scooter everytime we needed to come and go. The shower was a step in shower. Not a roll in. And the toilet was NOT handicapped accesible (no grab bars and it wasn't really "chair height" like a handicapped toilet should be. The room was clean but dark as it was tucked into a corner under shade. But it was quiet in the room. the Pool was overrun most days with lots of kids jumping in etc and the bbq's were overloading with people waiting to use. There was a party one night that monopolized one of the decks and bbq area. It was a Tuesday. Not terribly a biggie for us as we were only staying there because our family home was crowded and we needed the handicapped room. We made it work but for the price, I won't stay there again. Note to the hotel: Fully Handicapped rooms should be closer to the ramps and preferably on the first floor. God forbid an emergency, my husband would never get down the elevator and he cannot do steps. The staff at the front desk was so nice. And, the staff really seemed to keep the hotel, the pool, and the bbqs very clean. I did not like the ice machine. It was just a large machine everyone could reach right in. Not very hygenic if you ask me. An ice Dispenser...
