Marshalls — Local services in Wilkes-Barre Township

On Monday July 22, I came in back to school shopping with my daughter. Now despite the five star rating, I’d like to explain a rather UNPLEASANT experience we witnessed while in the store today, and I’ll explain my rating at the end. Some time in the afternoon as we were shopping I asked an associate for help. Sadly I did not catch this young lady’s name but she was very helpful when directing us to a few of the different departments. Fast forward a moment later, and I witness this same girl being screamed at by one of the managers in the most unprofessional and uncomfortable manner I have ever seen! I am a bystander and do not know what the issue might have been, but regardless I see this manager making an absolute scene, flailing arms around, disrespecting this young woman who took a moment to help us out just a while before. I don’t care what the mistake is, that is no way to treat an employee in front of guests and customers. I am never one to come on and leave a review but I left angry, knowing if that was my daughter, I’d want someone to say something. I truly regret not catching that manager’s name in the moment, it was either Payton or Paige as I couldn’t make it out. Still, I felt so bad for this worker who was clearly humiliated by how unprofessional this manager’s behavior was. So, I come to leave a five star review for that young lady who, despite dealing with unprofessional management, kept a positive and upbeat attitude towards the customers, unlike this manager did!! To whoever that young lady was, you are doing a wonderful job and i really hope something is said to the woman who was treating her...

On May 3rd at 12:45pm I purchased over $100 worth of goods at this store, among which was a men's pair of sneakers for my son. After getting home and putting them on, we noticed a defect where the sole was coming undone from the shoe. Today, May 11th we attempted to return said defective pair of shoes, only to be told the item does not exist in the store! I found that funny since I have a receipt, so I asked that they look at the security camera footage that will show me in the store picking up the shoes off the rack. Assistant manager named Stephanie Maday and "shoe coordinator" named Mary Rodriguez stated their security systems don't work, and they have never seen the product before, so there is nothing they can do. After calling corporate, I am due to receive my refund in the mail. Soo.. magically the product DOES exist. Moral of the story: don't shop here. Yes, its only $25, but what this store is doing is wrong. Don't lie next time, don't fraud, and you wont get a bad review. Simple. Will never...

We passed through on a trip and ended up wanting to buy an outdoor egg chair for a great price. I was skeptic we’d have room in the compact SUV, but this was probably the most driven and helpful sales team at any Marshall’s ever. The manager spent 20 min measuring both the chair and the frame, as well as the interior of the SUV, to see if it could fit. At this point, leaving without the chair wasn’t an option. The manager and another employee spent several attempts trying to fit the frame in the car, and with luck, managed to do so. It may have been the most uncomfortable (and dangerous) 3 hour drive of my life, but the chair looks great :)....
