WOW! Is all I can say. I have been here once before and the customer service was outstanding as was the entire atmosphere. However my second trip today could not have been more different. I walked in and was literally the only customer in there. The group of counter people were huddled in a circle I walked right up to them the one working the register would not even turn to face me I said excuse me and she turns around and scowls. I asked about sides and she rolls her eyes to sign and goes "their right up there sir." My point is I never asked for a meal. I just wanted a sandwich and said that specifically. Ypuu can tell this person did not want to be and clearly was not in the mood to pay attention to me let alone anyone else. I then put my credit card in the machine and a good 30 seconds goes by and nothing happens and the counter person has her back turned to me again because she is back to her conversation , another 30 seconds goes by and I say excuse me is there something wrong with this machine? The waitress turned around her eyes got wide she hit a button and said I fixed it it's good now ? So I walked out spending more money buying a meal when I only wanted the sandwich. I would not say anything but it was so opposite my first experience it made enough of an impression that I will not be back. Everyone has a bad day I completely get it but this was just poor customer service. I then could not find the straws or Lids because it was only my second time there and I did not realize they kept them in drawers not one person out of the five at the counter bothered to help me even though I was the only person in there. I eventually walked up to the counter and said I'm sorry I can't find you or straws am I missing something and another employee goes probably and walked over to the condiment station and opens the drawer. It was just a very cold unwelcome being experience forget the fact that I overpaid and got more than I wanted. I still have high hopes for Mission BBQ as I love the concept but as far as the Wilkes-Barre location...
Read moreI gave three stars because of the price. I got my food to go. You have a choice of having a pork, or brisket sandwich, or just getting the meat with no bun, and if you would like a side dish, which is a separate price to go with it. I was undecided of having the brisket because of reading the reviews it read the brisket they got was basically fat. I love brisket, and I did not want to get a chunk of fat, and then I noticed on the menu board inside that there are 2 kinds, lean and juicy. The girl behind the counter left me try a sample of both, which, in my opinion, I would have liked to have the one piece of meat lean and juicy, not 2 separate. Then it started getting pretty busy and I just wanted to get out of there , it was a little confusing maybe just me since it was my second time in there in 7 yrs , and then you had a choice of the BBQ sauces for the pork and I was getting this sandwich for my nephew which I had no clue what one he would like thankfully I got a plain BBQ sauce along with 2 other flavors but he liked the plain flavored. There's a few choices with the sauce. So I had the juicy brisket sandwich with a side of fresh cut fries. You don't get too much brisket there was 1 big chunk of fat but the rest was tasty though my sister agreed I didn't like the bun so the birds got that but my opinion it is overpriced and taking a chance with the fat which I know there's a lot of fat in a brisket but small portion like that should be no fat to the customer. And as far as the fries, I should've ate one as soon as I got in my truck because they were just warm not hot at all but this is when it got even busier with customers. Pork sandwich was packed with the other white meat,, hahaha, a nice amount of pork on that sandwich side of macaroni and cheese was a small container. And then he talked me into getting my 2 drinks with the fund raiser cups which was $5.00 alone. So over in all, you just gotta watch what you get and the size of what...
Read moreI am not from this area so your local barbeque may be something I am not familiar with. So I wanted some barbeque and was hopeful this brand new place would fit the bill. I walked in and was greeted with a very plesant interior and bright lights. One thing I dislike is a dimly lit place for food. The emplyees were very cheerful and eager to help. I mentioned this was my first time here and they really seemed genuinely happy. I ordered the black plated special with mac n cheese, and hand cut fries plus drink. I also inquired about their sauces ...they have quite a few. I am a fan of spicy food in general so asked about the hottest sauce they had. Baja sauce they said. I was called to retrieve my metal cookie sheet with my food and proceeded to eat everything on my plate. The steak was only okay, it did not have much in the way of juciness and slightly warm, maybe cooked too far in advance. This is I believe like a fast food steak house? At any rate the fries were of shoestring variety and cooked well. The mac n cheese was just okay. The cheese they used was very middle of the road, not savory or tangy and the topping of bread crumbs subtracted from the smoothness of elbow pasta. Overall it was just okay. As far as the sauces are concerned their hottests sauce, the baja, was not spicy. It did have a nice taste but not hot. They also havr a variety of sauces on the tables all of which were labeled as coming from different states. The kc classic had the most kick and i was pleasently surprised. While wriying this I was just given a free dessert......damn! They just got one star for effort. Wish more restaurant were like this. Not because of free food but effort. I hope this...
