Memorial Skatepark — Attraction in Wilsonville

I still remember how awful this skatepark is...Its obvious the city put this in for looks and not functionality. This set up would be suitable for a town that cannot afford to build a decent skatepark, but not in a beautifully maintained town like Watsonville. Next time when constructing a skatepark, they city should consider consulting the actual skateboarders themselves. Nice try Watsonville, but you missed the mark on this one! This is not a park that someone would return to unless it was their only choice. Not a Destination Skatepark. Millions of better choices...

My homie Matt Gilmore (RIP) got us all together in high school to play a concert for the city in order to raise money to put this skate park in. This was some classic Empire Records type action. Maybe the kids need to know this legend so they can do the same and make the necessary upgrades. See me and Matt in this photo....

They redid this park not too long ago and the pavement is a little smoother but all the ramps are so tight together that it’s impossible to flow around. It’s very unnatural and tight. Probably my least...
