On a business trip to Tashkent , I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights from 22 to 25 January 2020. I will always remember it on two counts , the huge rooms and very polite and courteous hotel staff. ||I arrived at around 10-30 AM, as my luggage was misplaced by airline, tired and frustrated but lady at reception was polite and helpful , she quickly arranged for my room. Though breakfast time was over but Mr. Bakhodir (I am putting my foto with him) Incharge of Dining hall and dining hall staff really impressed me with their demeanour, Bakhodir was very kind and on my choice fixed up a very delicious cheese Omelette for me. His Assistant a lady very smilingly arranged for tea of my choice.||The location of hotel deserves 5 Stars, close to many points of interest including Amir Temur square and Museum. It is close to airport and railway station at about 15 minutes on a taxi. The taxis at Tashkent generally cost between 5000 Sum to 15000 Sum maximum to any place in Tashkent ( 0.5 USD to 1.5 USD) .||The rooms believe me are huge though bit aged now. Breakfast was wholesome. Money Exchange counter was available and rates were reasonable. Though it was freezing outside but temperature was well maintained inside the hotel and rooms. The staff was prompt, very helpful and were able to communicate in English....
Read moreWe chose the Miran when flying in and out of Tashkent to/from UK as it's a short drive to the airports (international and domestic) and also from the railway station coming back on the bullet train. It is also 15 minutes easy walk (2 min taxi) to our preferred restaurant, Alfonso Restaurant- excellent food and reputation. The hotel is very large with all rooms having huge floor space and all amenities and is quite grand with uniformed staff and room service (selection on the TV inyour room). The rooms have robes, slippers, flat screen TVs. and the bathroom has the usual toiletries including a shaving kit and toothbrush and toothpaste should you have forgotten or run out. Very large comfortable bedds with crisp white linen. The breakfasts are buffet affairs with a huge array of choice and good strong coffee, and whilst we were there live music to entertain during the experience. There is an exchange, useful for changing excess monies back to stirling shoud you have notes left over before returning home, and we found all the staff friendly, efficient, and helpful. The only con perhaps is the bar is more expensive than necessary. We did not eat here in the evenings so cannot comment. However we would recommend this hotel as ideal for...
Read moreWhile the location of this hotel is quiet and the buffet breakfast is very good, we had too many issues during our two different stays for us to recommend this hotel. Hotel photos are misleading. We faced a myriad of maintenance issues; our hotel phone did not work, several lights did not work, etc. These problems got fixed, but it was annoying for a hotel that bills itself as 5 star. There are plenty of staff on the main floor, but we had trouble getting our room cleaned each day until the evenings as the poor cleaners are overworked. The photos show large, elegant bedrooms--our standard level rooms on 2 occasions were also large but with aging and dowdy decor, dirty windows, stained carpets and cheap looking bathrooms. My bed was uncomfortable as the metal coils could be felt at the top of the mattress-- the assistant manager told me all the mattresses were like that at the hotel so it could not be changed-- we put additional towels on the bed so I could sleep. The gym was closed indefinitely. I suggest you...
