I have been to Lech three times in the past, all of which I stayed at one of the prestigious hotels.||||On this occasion I went with four friends and because we were without our wives we felt that a budget hotel was more appropriate than a big name hotel.||What a surprise we found at the Laerchenhof.||||The hotel is really a bed and breakfast but don't be deceived, this is an exceptionally good one. Some of the rooms have been recently updated and they are what one would expect in one of the better hotels in Lech. Other rooms are slightly old fashioned but they are clean, the beds are comfortable and they all have en suite shower rooms.||||There is a large sitting room off the foyer and wifi is available throughout the hotel.||||The breakfast is good quality and substantial. There are a variety of cooked choices available as well as cold meats and cheese, fruits, homemade jams and choices of breads. ||||This is a family run hotel where everyone is very friendly and helpful. Andrea manages the hotel on a day to day basis but her family are in attendance most of the time. They all speak good English.||||Our group were a little nervous about finding places to eat in the evenings in Lech as there are not many restaurants outside hotels. We had no cause for concern at all as Andrea or her daughter booked us into a variety of hotel restaurants. All she required was a day's notice (as the restaurants get booked up) and a guide as to what budget we expected. ||||There is nothing about this hotel that is budget driven, other than the price of a room which is amazingly good value, particularly as Lech is one of the most exclusive and expensive resorts in the Alps.||The deal for staying between Monday and Friday is particularly good..||||If there is a downside to the hotel, it is that it is not in the centre of the village. That said, it is not out of town and it is only five minutes walk to the cable car and seven minutes walk to the main lift station.||||All of the guests during our time there were couples. Our impression was that couples, families and groups like us would all be very comfortable there.||||This place is a real find. It is comfortable, excellent value and run by a particularly friendly and...
Read moreWell I can't say enough about the skiing in Lech, with so many lifts and perfectly groomed trails to chose from we had a simply amazing time! There are also tons of hotels to chose from, but most induce extreme sticker shock. We chose Hotel Lärchenhof based on a friend's recommendation and were very pleased.||||The hotel is located right in town and an easy 5 minute walk to the lifts. The ladies at reception were both very welcoming and helpful. They provided great tips for which trails to hit and even booked us tables at some great restaurants (necessary during high season) while we were out skiing. Our room was simply furnished and very clean. There is no restaurant in the hotel but a very tasty breakfast was included in the room rate.||||I found their late checkout policy to be very reasonable, which is especially important for a ski hotel. First, if your room has not been booked by someone else for the date of your check out, you can simply stay in the room and check out late at no additional cost. If your room has been booked you will need to be out by standard checkout time, but can store your luggage in a locker downstairs and use the shower and changing facilities to freshen up after skiing. Since our room was booked we needed to avail ourselves of this second option and found the facilities to be quite nice.||||Overall we found the Lärchenhof to be a good value in a usually expensive location and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. We will certainly be staying there again on return...
Read moreCan't fault this place, which ticks the boxes for a value stay in an exclusive and wonderful ski resort.||||Andrea and the team were super helpful, answered all emails promptly. They even sent a lift to pick us up from the Arlberg Express without being asked). ||||Rooms were superb - absolutely huge, with a super comfy bed, sofa, lots of storage, and the shower is really powerful - just what you need after skiing.||||Free wifi, which is really fast - even with lots of people using it.||||There's an honesty bar, which is stocked with a range of wonderful beers, wines and soft drinks.||||They offered us late check out as the rooms were available the day after.||||Breakfast is the usual Austrian buffet of cereals and breads. But the treat is bacon and eggs every morning.||||Wellness area with sauna was popular and available each evening.||||You can ski back almost to the hotel, and it's an eight minute downhill walk to the lifts. The town centre with restaurants and bars is about five minutes. Recommend Haus Nr 8 at the bottom of the road - but book ahead as it's popular for dinner.||||The ski bus to Stuben and Zurs stops at the end of the road.||||Thoroughly...
