From the moment we arrived at Hotel Schwarzwand, we felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home rather than checking into a hotel. There’s an unmistakable family bed and breakfast charm here—warm, inviting, and intimate—that sets it apart from more commercial accommodations in Lech.
The rooms and common areas were spotless, with a level of cleanliness that speaks to the pride the staff clearly takes in the place. Every detail, from the freshly made beds to the impeccably maintained breakfast area, contributed to a sense of comfort and care that never wavered during our stay.
One of the standout features of Hotel Schwarzwand is its location. Perfectly nestled in Lech, it’s just a short walk to the lifts and the heart of the village. Whether you’re heading out for a day on the slopes or strolling into town for dinner, everything is easily accessible without compromising the peaceful mountain ambiance.
But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the staff—and in particular, Clemens. He was a constant, reassuring presence throughout our visit. Whether it was early morning or late evening, Clemens was always there with a smile, making sure guests were looked after. His dedication was remarkable—he seemed to be everywhere at once, effortlessly handling check-ins, serving breakfast, answering questions, and making sure each guest felt special. It’s rare to encounter someone so committed to hospitality, and his attentiveness played a huge part in making our stay so enjoyable.
Hotel Schwarzwand is the kind of place you look forward to returning to—not just for the location or the rooms, but for the genuine warmth that lingers long after you leave. We can’t wait...
Read moreFeb 1, 2022.. Just returned from 5 night stay at this hotel. My room was very updated and spotless. Comfortable Bed and furnishings. Location is quite near the center of Lech. 5 minute walk (downhill) to ski tram at Rufiplatz.|Two generations of the family run the hotel and are full of advice, information, big smiles. Always asking if they can help with anything. The ski storage area in lower level is great. Ski and board racks over drains so the floor isn't always wet. Warming boot rack. Padded benches to put boots on and off. Stairway directly outside. Elevator accessible. The reason I gave only 4 stars is the restaurant. Food was very good. Good breakfast buffet of meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, yogurts, and eggs cooked to order. Dinner is a set menu. 5 courses with one entree and one alternate entree. Dinner was excellent, but you don't really have options for what to order from a traditional menu. If someone in your party is a selective (picky) eater, it may not be the best option. There are several restaurants in close proximity, however you may need a reservation to get a table. The location of this hotel for skiers is easily better than 50% of the...
Read moreWe were so pleased upon arrival to see that the hotel was even better than advertised. I’d read on the website about the lovely Italian refurbishments, but was delighted to see that not only were our rooms beautifully designed, but also spacious, bright, warm and very clean. In addition, one of our two rooms sported a lovely view of the Schwarzwand. We were also extremely pleased with the location; off-set from the bustle of the town’s core, but a very quick walk to it and lifts and gondolas.
From the housekeepers who kept our rooms spotless and tidy to our servers in the dining room and lounge, everyone was not just polite but also friendly and professional. A special shout-out to Clemens whose service was unparalleled. The kitchen staff also outdid themselves with the perfect breakfast buffet and splendid four-course dinners. Thank you to the Elsensohn Family who greeted us warmly and provided an exceptional week for our family. We’ve found our new favourite...
