Peaceful, quiet, in the heart of old Salzburg. Its a few steps to shops, food, and everywhere you need to be. Check in between 2-4pm, old fashioned key, delightful room with private bathroom, closet, desk, and window. I felt welcomed and at home. Breakfast is on 1st floor 7-9am. It was a great start to the day. The Monastery is for students, and they have their own area. There's a special place inside to keep bicycles. It's quiet at night. I think because there's a lot of hotels in the area. The cafés and restaurants are more considerate in aligning to the house ordinance. I slept well every night. I loved my view of the shops and people walking around below. I faced the rock mountain. It was cool as it was in the shade. I would definitely stay here again. Oh and I love hearing the church bells.

I’m not going to lie, I was very concerned when I found out my study abroad institute was putting me in a hostel for 4 weeks. But this place was surprisingly satisfactory. The rooms were cleaned everyday. My roommates turned out to be cool. And the terrace was beautiful. It is important to note, curfew hours are in place. The kitchen power shuts off every night at a certain hour, along with the terrace. And the washer machine only takes coins…if you are too late to move or pick up your laundry, you will need to pay to open the machine door. Please note, this room also gets locked during the night. Oh! It is important to note, depending on where your room is, you WILL wake up at 5 am on Mondays and Wednesdays (I think) to the sound of the trash being picked up… you will also smell the garbage.

I stayed here for my first every trip abroad for my summer school program. Its location is perfect for getting around while staying close to your room. I was there for the summer, and the heat was unbearable! As an American, I am used to turning to the AC to cool down, but there is no AC in the rooms. The only place that would be cool would be the first floor. I will say, however, that room service was difficult to pin down to a schedule. Seeing as I was there for educational purposes, I did plenty of studying in my room. Sometimes I would be interrupted by housekeeping, and other times I was waiting for housekeeping to make their rounds. Also, the ringing of some church bells grew annoying fast because it would almost be unending when they begin to ring.
