Sun and Ice Ice Cream Parlour — Restaurant in New Providence

We purchased light breakfast and dessert a couple of times, and they were good. However the third time we went for ice cream, my son received negative service from one of the lady wait staff. My son ordered a strawberry milkshake from the menu and she told him he needed to get the stawberry dream which contained alcohol and was $5 more. He told her he didn't want that one because of the alcohol. She made him the regular milkshake and as she handed it to him she said bluntly, "next time you need to get the strawberry dream with alcohol." We found that very rude and uncalled for. My son is only 18 and does not drink. Of course, she didn't care because unfortunately the gratuity is automatically included in the purchase. Very uncomfortable experience and didn't go...

The gelato was pretty good, but the employee was unbelievably rude! It wasn't even directed at our party -- the people in front of us had ordered sandwiches, and when their number was called, they asked about their other sandwich. The employee rudely snapped at them and pointed her finger at them, saying, "SHE never told me what bagel she wanted!!" So, she just ignored their order. After the confrontation, she ignored my family and began complaining on and on to her coworker about the previous customers (who were perfectly pleasant; not rude at all). Unbelievably unprofessional.

Also, this spot is in the middle of the Coral lobby -- not quiet or quaint or cute. Wish we had avoided it...

This place is perfect for desserts! It is colorful, clean, and very very cheerful. We were on our way to Murray's, but we decided to try Sun and Ice and we were not disappointed. The service was incredible! The desserts were decadent and buttery and finger licking good. I had the carrot cake-- yum! The huge macaroon looking pink dessert was amazing too and the yellow ice cream was divine. If you are a chocolate lover, the chocolate ice cream is out of this world good....
