I'd give this place a 2/5 stars, but only because of the friendly housekeeping staff, and the other workers who tried their best to make sure I had a pleasant stay.
However, the angry blonde woman at the front desk is, by far, the rudest woman I've met. She lectured us on Bahamian policies, our travel arrangements, our flights, and many other things that didn't pertain to us checking in...whenever I asked her multiple times what this had to do with us checking in, she would continuously respond in a yelling rude manner. Tried to lecture us on United States policies in regards to how early to have to be at an airport before your flight (Yes, I reminded her that had nothing to do with checking in- nor did it matter because we weren't in the United States and she didn't care). She continuously interrupted my friends and I who were trying to talk to the front desk agent, even though her input wasn't needed. When I tried to step away from the conversation to avoid any further damage, she threatened to refund our money and kick us out of the hotel, because I was "being dramatic". Needless to say, she was a handful.
Later on throughout the week, multiple times we would walk through the lobby and all we could hear was the same blonde old woman yelling at all of the staff, other guests, and whoever else was behind the wall at the front desk. Super disrespectful and really hated seeing the staff treated in such a way, when they were nothing less than excellent our entire stay.
The first room we stayed in was extremely small, the tub didn't drain quickly (it filled up as I was taking a shower), and the bed had a massive sunken in dent where you would roll into continuously...In the second room, it was more comfortable and a little extra room. Only complaint was the wifi was very inconsistent, even though there were 8 different routers to choose from.
Also, don't eat the food. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't worth the price we paid for it.
As far as walking into town, super close to the beach, right off of bay street. Didn't have a problem walking anywhere, everything was pretty close.
All in all, I wouldn't stay here again. Money...

Read moreCame back to Towne Hotel second time this year and i must admit i like how much character this place has! Cozy, very colorful and exciting to look at. The different art in each room makes them unique and the chairs with a table outside overlooking inner yard with a pool adds additional space to hang out. And of course the parrot Max is charming and i did manage to get a "Hello" out of him))) With all that there are a few things that I'm not a fan of. The price! Really not a fan!!!...I am not sure if that's because cheaper rooms weren't available at the time of booking (both times!) or there are NO cheaper rooms but almost 170$ for a room at a 3 star hotel seems kind of ridiculous to me, even though it's right in the center of downtown. Original price was showing as 110 but then all kinds of fees and taxes added another 55 bucks (whattt?!?!) And at this price the included breakfast left much to be desired: boiled eggs, bread, slices of cheap chese, sliced sandwich meat, butter, jam and some oranges - that was all the celection! Also the room didn't feel thoroughly cleaned. And the wi-fi was spotty. My friend had to make an important video call for work so she had to go find an internet cafe in downtown and pay to have stable connection, cz the one at the hotel was unreliable. So bottom line is i would come back here but wouldn't stay more than 1...
