The ice cream is fine.
My wife, infant daughter, and I went on a Wednesday afternoon.
We sat down and were eating our ice cream, and at 5:00, we were informed that they were closing down.
I thought not much of it, since I was aware that they were listed as closing at 5:30 on Googlemaps and I assumed she was referring to that. I stood up uncomfortably and said “at 5:30, right?” and she said “no, right now”.
About one minute later, noticing that we were not moving toward the door (since we were not halfway through our ice cream), she said “he’s closing the gate downstairs now” (the parlour is on the second floor of a souvenir shop). She then turned off the lights where we were still seated eating our ice cream, and so I got the message that we were getting kicked out. “I’m just a bit confused because Googlemaps says 5:30.” She replied “we can change our minds anytime if it’s slow”.
Now, this is a sound business principle, and we were the only ones in the ice cream parlour at the time. However, we were still seated eating the ice cream we had paid for, we had taken a load off from the stroller and our bags and had settled in comfortably to eat ice cream at the venue where we had purchased the ice cream… it felt super wrong.
I’ve never heard of an establishment rushing to push out paying customers half an hour earlier than the scheduled closing time… we truly felt like we were getting kicked out once they abruptly decided that business was too slow to remain open for the day (remember they turned off the lights on us at 5:00 while we were sitting eating our ice cream).
Suffice it to say that we will obviously not return, which surely this ice cream parlour situated above a souvenir shop in the tourist area of a beautiful tropical island won’t care about.
But, maybe some of y’all would-be patrons will read and decide to prefer an ice cream venue that would decide to allow a small, weary family of paying customers to finish their ice cream in peace before hurriedly...
Read moreAfter all day on the beach, my wife and i stopped for an ice cream. They where delicious. I fully recommend them. They have only 2 tables inside, so you might have to wait if you want to be inside with the A/C. There are many tables outside on a balcony but no shade from the sun. Also souvenirs are pretty cheap, you rather buy stuff here than on the...
Read moreGoogle maps shows the wrong location for this business - if you go by the pin on the map, you end up at a CD & headphone store about 2 blocks away.
However, if you do find it (about 1 block north of the pirate museum) it may not be open. We went on a hot sunny Monday afternoon, and it was closed. Souvenir shop downstairs was...
