Bones — Restaurant in Bruges

We had the most horrific experience here! We were group of 5 there and one of my friend who is sick took a medicine which needed a water, she had her own water of bottle and when the owner saw it he immediately started being rude saying that we shouldn’t take our own water there and it’s his restaurant and his rules, we couldn’t even explain our situation at the beginning and he was about to kick us out literally… i was so shocked and afraid that I didn’t know what to do and to smooth the situation started ordering (I had a biggest laugh about it after, I was literally in shock doing it), with no appetite I ate vegan burger with fries that wasn’t even fried properly!! I don’t know what to say I have been in a lot of restaurants and have never experienced such a rude behavior before, I can’t even properly rate the food wether it was delicious or not!! I would not recommend this place at all, everyone visiting lovely city of Bruges must avoid this place at all costs if you don’t want to spoil your...

We went in as it started to pour it down with rain and we have our 3 month old baby with us. The lady accommodated us straight away and we had some really nice food and wasn’t that pricey compared to the other restaurants around it.

The only thing that really annoyed me was we was planning on leaving shortly and then we realised our daughter needed a nappy change, with our hotel just across the street we decided to go there as we was already finished, they lady who was quite polite with us (not sure about the other guests) decided to start putting on my daughters rain cover and tucking her hood into the pram as I was trying to get out of a very tight space, (baby screaming at this point) everyone was looking at me like I didn’t know how to look after my own child, please respect the boundaries, I understand you was just trying to help but if a parent tells you no and to leave it as we can do it ourselves just in front of the door where there is more space then please...

We made a reservation for a specific time. Once arriving it was reasonable to expect that we’d be welcomed and taken to our table. Instead, we were subjected to hostility and rudeness by the barman who shouted at us across the restaurant, “HAVE YOU MADE A RESERVATION?”. I explained we had and gave our name. He rudely demanded who the reservation was made with. When I pointed to the member of staff I made the reservation with, I was told to “be calm”, which I found enormously inappropriate, patronising and condescending. We were then ordered to wait. When we asked how long the wait would be, the barman shrugged his shoulders and said, “I don’t know”. I said we’d go elsewhere. He replied, “good”. I saw one waiter servicing 50+ people. That’s why it’s so cheap. You’ll wait an age to get served with meat that looks mass-produced and poor quality. The stench of grease was unreal. Lucky escape by there being no tables available. My advice, go elsewhere. Lesson learnt...
